CLE/DEN would be a no lose finals for me. I was first and foremost a Cavs fan since the mid 80s and then in 1995 moved to Denver and became a Nuggets fan too.

So of course, with my sports luck it will be LA and ORL in the finals. :lol

To this day the 89 A's is the only team of mine to ever win a championship. LOL!!!

lakers WERE in their heads. had this been a first round matchup I totally agree lakers take in 5. but now the nuggets have success and it no longers lingers in their heads that they can't make it out of the first round, so I don't think they fear the lakers anymore either. I still think probably lakers in 6 or 7, but wont be too surprised if nuggets come out swinging early.

Halftime.. and I can't figure out how the Lakers are ahead. :lol

Lakers Bigmen totally outplayed. Pao ineffective so far except for few rebounds. Denver on fire in 1st, very impressive O display. Blocking shots like crazy. I do think the Lakers 2nd Unit outplayed Denver's and will be a big factor in the Series. Denver can't hit their freethrows. Officials missing a lot of calls on both sides. Better 2nd qtr D by Lakers helped but they are totally unbalanced, scoring wise. They have the goods inside but are not delivering.

And that's because Kobe is doin' work.

How did that happen? :lol

Seemed like they threw everything at us, had us beat most of the game, had the game in hand with 5 minutes left ( 7pt lead?) then whoosh, it slipped away in an instant. I STILL don't know how we won that game, But I know this. NEVER underestimate Home Court and never underestimate Kobe Bryant as a closer.

Nuggets arent ready yet to beat LA, nobody underestimates Kobe as a closer, dont know why you think anyone does  but i swear he cries about every call that referees dont make in his favor, quite annoying from someone that is the Lakers leader

Kobe was frustrated by the 1st half no calls, the Nuggets swarming D, the clean strips, etc. The Officials sucked for most of the game. Missing Chauncey's foot out of bounds on that last second 3 when the Official was staring right at him was almost unforgiveable. If you followed the Lakers all Season, you would know Kobe can come up short closing, especially when he puts the game on his shoulders, mostly on the road. He also didn't close well on the Celts last Season. But at home, I don't think there is anyone better. He won it with free throws tonight. The story of the Series may end up being the Lakers 2nd unit and free throws. Nuggets lost tonight because they failed to convert too many free throws IMO.

Anyone know the team FT stats for tonight?

He has 5 techs.. 2 more and he gets suspended.. You'll prolly see him zip it..

does that flagrant foul he had aginst Artest count towards that as well? i believe its a total of 7 points against the player, but not sure if that counts T's and flagrants or not, but if the rest of the series is this physical, and it goes at least 6, i dont see him not getting at least 1 more, he serious just cries about everything, so its bound to happen unless the Lakers have an easy rest of the way against Denver

true.........but if you noticed there was a play when the refs called a 2 pointer in the 3rd, but in actuality it was a 3, so refs arent perfect, i think the calls were even both ways, but Kobe is human, so its not going to happen every night when they need it, everyone knows he is the best closer, but like West said, i also believe Lebron is the best all around player in the league. i think Denver just does not have the coaching to get the small things right to be able to beat great teams, i mean what kind of idiot puts a 6ft guard to inbound the ball against a 6'11 guy :duh

Really could have gone either way. Denver is a great team, they had L.A. on the ropes all night and should have won. I think Phil knows they stole this one. But it all came down to a few key plays when they were tied with 1 minute remaining. Trevor broke it, he is an amazing athlete. More often than not it seems the little things break your way when you're playing at home.
