I would've not kept this figure if it wasn't for Mr. T wayne modifying the sculpt for me

Well, tonight I went shopping. Wasn't planning on getting this but saw it for $30 (US$22) and couldn't say no. It's the 50cm (20") Jakks Pacific Armored Batman. Of course the paint apps suck but I think with a bit of patience it could look pretty great. Considering NECA's basically said they won't be doing one (a shame as I think it'd be pretty popular) this will do very nicely and fit in scale with the NECA 1/4 scales.

The (mostly) finished cowl... Some more work on the flesh to do. Also did a lighting test.
Really happy with how this is turning out. Outside of the actual figure I've spent a grand total of $9. Everything else I had laying around the house.

Decided to make a Kryptonite spear as well. Two markers, one top of an old paint brush, a piece of plastic from a broken container cut into little pieces, a nail and a green whiteboard marker. All ready for painting.
EDIT: Done!
A light flat black spray followed by a light oil rubbed bronze spray topped off with some metallic aluminium dry brush. Came out very nicely and looks even better up close. I roughed up the surface a bit in a few spots and it will complement the armored suit well.
EDIT: And all put together!
The Kryptonite is just layers of plastic coloured with green whiteboard marker and then glued together, given another overall green coat and then a clear coat. My first time ever making a custom prop. I can't say I'd do it often and hats off to the people that do because it's painfully fiddly and time consuming but after three hours I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's not screen accurate but I just wanted the general idea and it will look great in the hands of the armored Batman!

Just about done! Fixed the skin, installed the lighting and put it back together. All that's left to do is a cape.
If you can get one of these and have a little patience you can end up with something looking pretty great! I highly recommend giving it a go!

By the way, did you add the Bat-logo underneath his armor? I don't think I've ever noticed it on the stock figure.

Thanks. I'm pretty happy with what it's got. Yeah, it's very limited but it at least allows for a pose like above which gives it some character. That's good enough for me!

Great work Psycho! I especially like the "Respect the past, embrace the future" picture. I feel like Keaton should be on the left and Affleck on the right in that one though.
