That seam on the mask is terrible!! If I end up picking up that version, that is definitely getting sanded off.

Good job on the wound, greenblood. It looks like that stuff would glow if the lights were off.

Thanks guys. :)

While it won't glow with the lights off it will glow under florescent light, it's a mixture of neon yellow with two drops of light green added.

So you get him and you're already beating him? I can't stay here watching you abusing that poor Predator, I'm calling the World Society for the Protection of Predators!! :rotfl

Now seriously, it looks great :) .

hahaha:rotfl
that poor thing is going to end up trying to kill himself like the others

Whoa this looks really cool. I'm enjoying seeing all these pics and knowing this guy is being enjoyed by fans like myself. Pinch me it really got made at long last. Has anyone looked at there McFarlane 12 inch figure lately? Just think that figure almost became an 18inch figure. Think God Todd decided after poor sells of his Edward Sissorhands figure to drop making these big figures. Thanks Todd.

lol yeah I said something about it before, that thing is pretty hideous lol,
so the Edward Scissorhands sold poorly, that's weird, I see those on ebay going for a lot, I was always curious about it, kinda wanted one but, never cared much really
the McFarlane pred is not cheap either...

Anybody else displaying there predator on the bottom of a detolf? I was wondering if anyone has any idea's on a good way to rise him up some. He is around 10-12" from the second shelf and it looks kinda dumb with the huge gap in space. I was wondering if someone found something cool they could maybe stand him on so he basically is not standing on the floor. Something 6"-8" from the floor would look perfect, any idea's would be appreciated.

The night before these babies got here the 12" McFarlane went into storage...permanently lol.

The only one of his that I still have out is the 12" Stealth Pred, the only reason that looks okay is because it's not painted lol.

I swear I think the paint department for that figure went something like this...

"Okay boys and girls today we're going to be doing something really special, we're going to be painting Predators!"

(Children)
"Yaaaayyyyy!!!!!"

"And they'll be sold in actual stores! Whoever does the best job gets a gold star on the achievement board!"

Oh yeah the sculpt sucked too, some poor 2nd grader got an F on that one.

is funny, back then when I was young and I didn't know better, I used to Worship McFarlane, I was a huge Spawn fan (still are) loved the comics, liked the movie, then got some of the figures,
but yeah Im really glad i waited and then Tankman and Neca made our dreams a reality,
Like someone said before in here, I waited for years for a figure like this to come out,

So, which is better?

1/4 Neca or 1/6 Hot Toys?

Are they even comparable?

I know this might start trouble, but some of you are mature enough to give a good answer.

Thanks!

To be fair, McFarlane Toys were great for their time, and helped pave the way for toys like the ones we now have today. Give due credit folks. Also, several of McFarlane's sculptors work for NECA now, so it's just product quality improving over time.

Read the thread at least half of it is arguing which of the two is "better". Your asking is just going to start the arguments again.

Ultimately they are two completely different figures with their own strengths and weaknesses. It will depend on what you place importance on. Look at the pictures and make your own decisions.

If you want to think it's a good sculpt just look at the gun and gun backpack. Such a joke. I still have the clay one that never got finished and to be fair sculpting has gotten better but that figure was finished off by guys fresh out of school. The dreads are so very sad and the guy that did them would tell you so. I'm just glad they went down to 12 inches on it and saved the 18 inch for us.

:lecture This.
These guys are still at work, learning from their previous projects.
Thank goodness for us, they're just getting better each time.

GB, great job with the Predator blood.

Looks like you took my advice afterall and used the lollipop shaped like a human skull to give to the yautja. :D :hi5:

Oh no yeah I agree, like i said, I spend quite a lot of dough buying those figures, I had a bunch of 12 inch spawn, I had one avp pred, i also have their 7 inch Crow, a bunch of their 7 inch etc,etc..
I used to really want their 12 inch pred, I saw it at a store once, didn't buy it and I felt bad for no buying it, then the HT pred came out and I missed that one as well, so I was beating myself up,but with the pred, now Im glad i didnt spend the money on that...

so yeah, I used to buy a lot from them and still a lot of their figures are pretty nice, and yeah they get better, I just think is funny how things change, I never in a million years thought that I was going to see what Neca did with the pred, I never thought stuff like Hot toys could exist, is funny how things and quality change, makes me wonder what we will see in the future....

Oh I was talking to someone and I just realized something

the close mouth is the one of the three that seems to be selling less,
You think that one would end up making it to stores around? Like Toys R Us stores? I could see the masked version disappearing fast, and the open mouth is selling, but most of the pics are open mouth and, BBTS never sold out of the close mouth, even when all of the other 2 sold out,

I wonder if the poor close mouths would be seen at stores or the mall or something....
