This hobby really has been tainted by GREED

I realized that the first and only time I went to SDCC. Seeing people loitering around the Mondo booth waiting for the tweet that a print was up for sale was just sickening. You could tell the vast majority of people waiting were flippers and not actual collectors.

I know with people I’ve had grab me limited prints, I thought they’d be gone and they said it was no problem. And those were in mega low numbers, like 100-200. I can’t see 4000 and let’s randomly say 1500 dio sets flying on day one. I’d say odds are really good if you’re there, you’re getting a set.

For me, it’s a toss up..go through this tremendous scenario of getting this online itself or take the easier route and wait for Con and pick them up in person but then comes the preparation that comes with SDCC... tickets, hotel fees ( if I need it) gas, money to spend, extra costs to buy event panels, etc

So don’t hate me..sometimes it’s just not that simple to say yeah walk up to the Neca booth and buy these

Even with these being shrunk down to 1/12 the detail is still really amazing. Looks like a shot from the movie. Amazing!

I can make Uber bank with my figure collections.., I know I have stuff, people are interested, especially vintage product I have collected over the years , but I can’t do it..I love my hobby too much to sell it for profit.

That’s why I truly hate scalpers in cases like this , that just take the fun out of collecting

See, that’s what I’m talking ‘bout!! Congrats!!! I’m thrilled to see so many members who felt hopelessly frustrated actually come out on top! Still sad there’s not enough for everyone here though. This forum is full of so many good people. If I could’ve nabbed a second set, I’d definitely have helped out a fellow Freak.

I assume these are already made and ready but they have to wait until SDCC to release ..hence how tubers like Pixel Dan actually has the final product.

The fact that they pay a lot of money for the license and dont want competition? If sucks but its not hard fo see why Playmates would be saying no.

Who cares?The quality is awful and they aren’t getting good sales anymore. There new bay inspired turtles look like happy meal toys. Kids don’t even buy figures like they use to. So it’s fair to loosen up. They just wanna be greedy.

Dude’s a scalper..had the same auction up at $270 this morning, I was going to bite if I hadn’t scored today

He was waiting to see it sell out quickly on the site no doubt, because after it did, he changed it to this ludicrous price

I can’t believe it had so many sold at that price.. even 1/4 at retail would equal just under $500 for all four
