NECA 18" ALIEN - stiffness and leg problems with the figure??

I got mine yesterday and the damn thing is so ******* stiff!!!! Honestly what were the guys are NECA thinking when they rolled this mutha out on us??!!!

OK, I snapped off his left foot trying to get the ^^^^ing ankle joint to move. And also I cant get one of his ^^^^ty legs on cos the peg is too ****** wide. WTF, man???!!!! Stoooopid NECA. I'll have to email their ***** and tell them the figure is a pain in the ass...though it looks kinda cool.

Is anyone else having probs with it?

Mine had stiff ankles too, gave up trying to move them in the end. Was worried about breaking the ankle off, is a pain in the ass to pose so that it doesn't fall over. Great looking figure for the money though.

to fit the leg on a hair dryer is a must mine woudnt go in by force. as for the ankles im not even gonna try and move it as they will probably snap. its ok i guess. anyone seriously wants one in the uk you can have mine if you pay postage. you really do get what you pay for no comparison to the HT aliens.

it's great for what it is. I still like mine. but yea, it's not made for lots of posing. mines standing straight up and that's how it's staying. should of used a hairdryer to heat up the problem areas.

I used hot water for the leg but the shagging thing still wont fit in all the way. I should have done thast for the ankle though but got a bit too confident when I managed to get the other one to move.

the legs were a B to get on though. just glue it back together and you'll have the original movement back.

mine did that aswell. i used a hammer it worked though

Actually, IMHO, you should buy it if you're an alien fan.
I've had absolutely no breakage issues with mine and it is an awesome figure, by far the most accurate rendition of the alien to date.
The joints are very stiff, but if you're careful they'll work very well. It's not a problem free figure, but to quite honest, I haven't seen a problem-free figure in ages...

I'm pretty happy with mine and have had no real problems. I have heard of a fair number of people experiencing ankle breakage, though, so you do need to be careful.

Maybe NECA saw all the complaints that the HT blue Aliens Warrior had with it's fragile joints and thoguht they'd better make their's version stronger. I think they over-did it though by far though, the paranoid knobs.

This is a superb figure. Best rendition of the Alien ever in fact. However the quality is crap for want of a better word. I bought two 18" and two 9". One of the 9" versions arms fell of at the elbow getting it out of the packaging. One of the 18" versions had bad moulding on it's left arm and the right arm has a dodgy shoulder. The other 18" I manged to snap the ankle after trying to get the foot moving. It's a real shame as the sculpt is really out of this world.
