Imagine if we'd had this when we were kids. Today as an adult I have so many things that would have blown the mind of my child self. I probably would have demolished them over time but man, incredible fun would have been had.

As children we had to use our imaginations and pretend that those crappy kenner figures actually looked like what we saw in the movies, but now, we're actually getting what we saw in the films. Poor QC unfortunately accepted (and excepted) we're living in a great time that probably only we can appreciate. Will kids today give a damn that the classic movies of the 80s are finally getting the standard of figures they deserve? Nope. Only we can, the people who have bothered to click on this thread. Those of us who were kids in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

My Aliens Queen got dispatched today from the UK website: Dandyisland.com UK Funko Pop Vinyls, Snapback Caps, Superhero, TV & Movie

Never used this place before but I'm glad I found it, may come before Christmas... hopefully!

However I had to pay £84.99 for this when US gets it for about $95. Which should be £60.70 converted not £84.99. UK and i'm sure other countries gets this with figure collectibles including NECA... Damn this hobby is expensive, and once you start it's bloody well hard to stop.

Honestly, I think this has become my favorite thread now. All these pics of the queen are sick!

Question: what is the best Hicks and Hudson to get? I saw them in the stores long time back and didn't pick them up because I thought they looked pretty crappy. But I would love to get them to really show the sale of the queen.

Of course, a final battle Ripley (with Newt that she can hold) would be the ultimate!

Personally I preferred the 2-packs. The lack of helmets or any other headgear on the singles murdered the cool factor for me. Its as if they chose to capture the argument in the APC instead of an action scene. I still bought them, of course, but much customizing was needed.

The screaming heads may not be people's favorite sculpt, but Hudson's death scene is FAR cooler to me than his whining scene(s).

A quick customization of the screaming Hicks killed two birds with one stone for me. I got an Ops battle Hicks and I was able to use his helmet on another character custom.

And do he got a complete hair under the helmet?

He actually does have "most" of a full head of hair. Already molded to fit a Racal headset too, in fact. Just got the little peg from the helmet to fill in and touch up some paint.


Helmet practically 'peels' off after a soak in hot water.

I see, so mod a bit (fill up the "hair" gap) and repaint is needed.
What material can use to fill in? And what code colors can be used to match the same hair color?

Afraid that is all guess and test. I just mixed paints I already had until I got a good match. For filler you can use literally anything. I used liquid nails adhesive. It was tacky enough to sculpt and dried slow enough that you could work with it. You dont need much as its a little "bowl" that your filling in.



Anyways, back to current events. I got brave and directly asked Movie Replicas Direct about my order (one of the insane price ones) and they responded very friendly-style that it "should not be long" until my order ships. So...good! I can't wait.

Would everyone prefer an elaborate, yet expensive, diorama or an "egg pack" (like maybe 1 of each egg and a hugger) sold as if it were a figure?

Personally I could get behind the idea of an egg pack.
