I think that Ripley looks good. NECA did a good job there.

Is that not the same face as the '79 Ripley? Amazing what a hair change can do. I do think it looks pretty good though. Hopefully paint won't ruin it too bad.

I don't know, man. Hard to tell as the paintjob on the eyes does a lot to an expression and lots of lighting on the '79 washes out some features that the heavily shadowed new one captures. Also a 'under' shot vs 'over shot' makes the new one look more intense by default, but I don't see anything crazy new and improved going on here.


The hair, eyes, and good paint may very well make it into a battle hardened intense sculpt, but the sculpt itself looks the same to me. Maybe it's just me though.

I played around with painting the Aliens headsculpt in photoshop. I think they nailed the likeness this time, and I'm excited to see a painted prototype!

The Alien franchise line really could go on for years at this pace. I mean they still haven't even made all the Hicks and Hudson variants there could be, let alone further Ripley variants and other characters.

The likeness is great, albeit a bit young looking IMHO.
At any rate, I think I only need one Ripley in my collection, and that is Nostromo Ripley...

I disagree. There's a slight taper to the jaw on the Aliens sculpt. The newer straight on looks far more like Sigourney. Both of the 3/4 views look great.

It will be: Final Battle Ripley, Torn in half Bishop with Egg and Facehugger, and the Red and Black Genocide Alien Warriors. So 4 figures total in this wave. Aside from the Ripley proto pics, and we already know what the Genocide Warriors look like, we just haven't seen any of Bishop.

Also, man, that 1/4th '79 Alien looks amazing. Hopefully they can still implement the translucent lips idea. And Kyle's idea in that one video of electroplating the teeth would be amazing if it was done.
