So for people that ordered online (like myself), NECA is basically saying, "We advertised the figure with fully closed lips but if you didn't buy it in store, don't be angry at us for not telling you there are variants that go against that earlier PR."
I can understand variants in smaller figures, but this is an expensive price point item they're messing with--and what exactly is/was the mortal sin in telling us there were variants before pre-orders were made available? My theory: the factories messed up again and they are covering it up.
Fanfare and accuracy aside, the 1/4 scale looks great, but give your customers the option of knowing which one they are buying in advance instead of forcing the hassle of returns on them.
