NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

So for people that ordered online (like myself), NECA is basically saying, "We advertised the figure with fully closed lips but if you didn't buy it in store, don't be angry at us for not telling you there are variants that go against that earlier PR."

I can understand variants in smaller figures, but this is an expensive price point item they're messing with--and what exactly is/was the mortal sin in telling us there were variants before pre-orders were made available? My theory: the factories messed up again and they are covering it up.

Fanfare and accuracy aside, the 1/4 scale looks great, but give your customers the option of knowing which one they are buying in advance instead of forcing the hassle of returns on them.

Well it's like the odds of finding this variant? I could check TRU if they carry it in stores, Newbury Comics but this might be be tough to find.

Well hells. It's a crap shoot. If you order online, what are you gonna get? If you don't like the closed lip version, can you return it? I've never seen my Toys R Us carrying any big chaps. They did have a boatload of those Alien/Predator two packs but every one up and disappeared one day.

I still have two of the original 1:4 scales sealed up from when I bought em years ago. Think I got em from Entertainment Earth... It was nice to know what you were getting (no variants) but this is a bit frustrating. I just hope I can hunt down the retracted lip version before the scalpers get em...

Actually I like the retracted lips better.But really not quite happy with this strategy, why not include one alternative head sculpt and raise the price slightly? Same complain came from the 1/4 predator.

I see retractable being used, has it been confirmed that the lips don't slide in/out?

As far as I remember implementation of this feature delayed 1/4 big chap production. But it hasn't been mentioned ever since. So we need a confirmation from one the owners of the figure.

If lips ARE movable then I'm the biggest ass in the universe
A) didn't preordered it due to the "ugly" lips.
B) I was whining about it all around the internets

I highly doubt the lips are movable. Having them actually be retractable into a recess in the sculpt would probably look stupid and if they were a soft squishy material they'd tear and degrade and wouldn't hold a different position anyway.

Just got series 6 on eBay . Neca vault. Very excited to add Riley's kid, plus I like that yellow suit too. I will post pics, not sure if I will like the alien

Pretty sure they did something similar with their Predalien figures and them having open or closed mandibles.

Ordered online and I am really hoping I get the regular closed lips. Was a fan of them from the start so getting the variant would kinda suck Either way it still looks like one of the best Alien figures out there.

...I love how she looks, but I'm not into comic book based figures for Alien. Anyway I hope she's doing fine, otherwise the chances of an AVP and Resurrection Queen will be almost non existent [emoji24]

That's funny how he couldn't get it to stand up , so the final shots have the queen face down on the floor. And why is he using the stand to support the queen from the back? The stand should be used to support the queen from her chest. There are even indents on the body for it...
