Is the Wal Mart version any different than the 1979 version Neca most recently released?

From what I can tell it's the same figure just different packaging.

Someone said the lips were different. I haven't really stared at it to verify, but the series 2 '79 had a snarling thing going on where this new one is supposed to be full blown bearing teeth.

Rumored smartgunner (possibly generic) but not sure anything concrete ever was revealed. That may have just been wishful thinking that was repeated so often I believed it.

Bald Ripley seems like a given since they teased the A3 hand torch a while back.

Someone asked on twitter whether we would see Lambert in Series 8 and this was their reply:

No, Series 8 is all Alien 3, Series 9 is Aliens & Series 10 is Kenner.

Seems like this guy has some inside info

Alien 3 Ripley is part of the same series. I think the lineup will be the Commando, Ripley, the Bambi burster and Queen facehugger together, and the dog alien with a new paint job.

Well, series 8 and 9 are really interesting me. I'm sure we'll get Ripley, we know about the WY Mercs and they mentioned we'd see the dog alien again at some point so I wonder if a bloody repaint or like mentioned above the bambi burster and queen hugger since that's also been mentioned by Neca?

Series 9 Aliens - We know about the smart gunner coming and wouldn't it be great if we got both Drake and Vaz instead of a generic gunner(even though I'd still get it). I bet a rehash of the helmeted Hicks will re emerge with the headset instead of the helmet. If you've seen that version without the helmet its possible. We could also get another Ripley in full jumpsuit but I really hope that wave is all about new Marines even though that's just probably wishful/unrealistic hoping on my part

Really only 4 to go since the Merc/commando and A3 Ripley are certainties. Here's hoping they are a worthy four!

I'm going to go on a limb and guess the Bambi burster and queen hugger get split between A3 Ripley and a Bishop Weyland figure rather than be a dedicated release.

So once the Kenner stuff starts they are still going to rotate the waves right? I thought the Kenner stuff would be every 3rd wave and not back to back.

Neca also said they are very likely going to re-release the Dog Alien since the demand is there. You guys think they will stick in a re-release (or v2) with the Alien3 wave?

That's what I was thinking, the covered in hot lead would be cool too but I would like a blood covered version.

Question: I've had my 1/4th Alien for almost a month and I noticed his legs are bending outwards at the knees. Mainly his right. I'm wondering if his weight is causing it. Is anyone else having this issue?

I missed out on the clean Dog Alien and would buy a reissue as well as a variant.

Got bored over the weekend so I decided to take one of my extra Mcfarlane Queen Alien cocooned victim scenes and cocoon a Neca marine. If you look closely I've got his chest armor and flame thrower close by. What do you guys think? I still have a little more work to do, it's not a finished product yet

Got the assortment come through today in the UK and whilst packaging them up to send to buyers I noticed that they have made a "variant" in this set. 6 Xeno's in each assortment, 4 out of the six have the lips whilst the other two have the retracted / no lips. Tried to take some pics below - not very good they are still in packaging:





I think they need to stop doing this. I know it's not a big deal but collectors that want a fully complete set / both are going to have a hard time doing that.
