NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

Yeah I guess Alien 3 and the life size face hugger might do my neca collecting for the year. Randy said I might say that now , til I see what Kenner figures they have cooked up.

Randy seems really hyped with the Kenner wave coming up, more so than he has with some of the more recent waves. Taking into account that they're getting to play with animal sculpts and not plain humanoid shapes it makes sense neca can have more fun with these than the standard warriors. I myself am keen to see which animals they picked and even if they picked another Kenner marine.

.... I got very excited. These would have been my 2 picks from the Kenner line. Since the AVP 2 pack was done.

Nice customs, particularly the Snake Alien.
Looking forward to seeing how far they push the license. Could think of a few more Dark Horse comics characters I would like to see.

Its always a shame when a recent Alien reveal doesnt send this forum into a frenzy of activity like the last batch of reveals have. Maybe Randy just thought the Genocide variants were suppost to be a big want for the collectors but turns out he was wrong ? Or maybe he hyped it up way too much with his wording ?

Some of the suggestions that the fans put forward to what the reveal could be were I thought were much cooler, such as a figure of Ripley in that weird xeno suit that Blomkamp drew and also a battle scarred older Hicks. Bishop 2 I think also came up.

Many of the suggestions are cooler, but virtually none are realistic. We can all wish and suggest the most compelling and great ideas all we like but they have repeatedly said they can't make money off 'one-offs'.

If they can't repaint it and repackage it with minor tweaks then they won't sculpt it. Even the surprising number of human's of late are made from a ton of recycled parts and/or parts that will soon be recycled.

I was actually not expecting anything that I personally would be interested in acquiring to be revealed last Friday. I am more concerned that Mondays reveal is going to disappointing (at least for me). I have absolutely no interest in TMNT.

Randy says that Mondays reveal is going to be major so we will see.

I hope they make an APC.
They can make normal, battle/acid damage, and repaint/camo versions.
Change the turret a bit and make it heavy weapons etc.

He did Newt, Vaz and Frost basically in one go. I doubt anything can live up to that hype. I mean come on maaan we asked for this for several years

I think, that the next big thing will be Decent T2 1/4 figure with 1/4 Dutch headsculpt and complete lack of that horrible diaper-like articulation. At least they could hide it. Heck they could do 1/4 Conan and hide all those joints like they did with Predator. That would be awesome plus the tooling (Randy is all about the tooling, right?) is available.

Looks like he'll turn out a little more black than the dark blue in the prototype shots.

Video-game Turtle line? Well, not something I'd buy but those do look pretty cool. You'd really want the whole diorama though.
