Now I feel glad about ordering another discounted Queen as a backup for a possible diorama!

It could backfire on you if the only way they release the eggsack is with another Queen. Although as some have pointed out that might be too big and expensive altogether.

Those AvP pillars could be an indication that they might try releasing the egg-sack (with necessary supporting structure) by itself.

...that would so friggin cool but so friggin huge and expensive too. Can't wait to see how they would release it, but I don't see how can they do it when it should be around three times the size of the Queen

well in that case it should be a full set, like this - with additional supports and so on.

i wouldn't mind at all.

I personally think they would have to release a set with a modified queen to get it to work. I would prefer just the sack and supports but I don't see how they could get it to work with the existing queen as she is engineered. Sucks for me because a set with the queen would surely price me out getting the set. That and space would be an issue but for the right price point I'd make room.

has Cameron ever gone into detail about the queen on her egg sack? It would be cool to know the details of whatever the supports are and get a real detailed look at how everything is supported. It looks like large bones on the sides of the queen like on the walls of the derelict. I guess those albino hive drones were extremely busy behind the scenes building her throne to perch upon - lol.

what i know is that it should contain medieval streetlights.

and that eggs inside look like... well, eggs.

jokes aside, this proves that a queen forms the eggs inside the sack and not inside her body (because in the middle of it they are still not ready to be laid, as they look like bird eggs without the cover), so A3 theories of a queen laying an egg without an apparatus for it are wrong. which was the purpose i made these shots for years ago.

I've decided to get two of each of the 'special' NECA figures (i.e. I had 2 Big Chaps, 2 Warriors, and now I have 2 Queens). Might sound stupid, but you never know when the new Queen might come in handy

Would definately need new engineering. Getting her in that pose was one of the first things I tried when I got mine. Not possible.

I wonder, would people be happy with a less articulated queen for this pose. Like only head and arm articulation. She doesn't move very much in that scene anyway, only her head arms.

yep, she can be sculpted as one piece from the waist down (minus the tail), this way the sculptor can achieve propper sitting pose from the beginning. no reason to change the upper articulation, right?

Sounds good to me. I'd rather have an accurately sculpted pose than a fully articulated figure that can't properly sit on her throne.

Some would probably complain if it was done this way and they didn't have the first Queen release but....I would like NECA to ignore such persons in this case.

erm... she hangs from the ceiling, heavily restrained, with a worst case of prolapsed uterus ever... i guess there are no usurpers for such a throne.
