That Newt looks pretty bad. All sorts of paint **** ups there, not to mention the facial scarring that shouldn't be there.
...wow, he seems to have a bad luck streak. His Alien³ Ripley had a lazy eye. Thankfully both figures are perfect for me

Mine has a very slight issue with her left eye where some white is painted onto her lower eyelid and the upper eyelash line isn't quite where it should be but I make it sound worse than it is. I was quite happy with it.

I watched the video of the guy complaining, he has some valid points. Particularly about QC, but after 19 minutes of his tyrate ( I lost interest). Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of todays forced PC atmosphere, but at the same time, there is more than one way to make your point ( in most cases), with out resorting to an snide, condesending rant. I dont know if he was tring to be funny or just a jack%@* ( phrasing in a joking manner but being sincere in point of issue ) .

As customers we have all bought poor quality items from company's (NECA being no different). A certain level of issues is to be expected. But #$@ , these are action figures / collectables / " big boy toys " ( apologizes to any female collectors, as I am unaware of the corresponding colloquialism for women............. my attempt to be funny, but failing at it ) what ever you want to call them. We are not talking about a product that requires a recall for safety issues or consumer fraud from a disreputable company.

Speaking for myself (ha ha ) I have had several "out of the box" QC issues, one in particular I am not happy with NECA@ CS, but oh well----- Deal with it or more on. Word of mouth being the best or worse advertisement, NECA should be concerned about customer feedback. Randy, on twitter is a level of proof of that, I am unaware of another company with that active of a response,Q/A system. .......end of defense of NECA

Neca's CS is hard to deal with ( three months after contacted CS, having to re-forward the original email string to multiple CS reps, being put on waiting list) no response, told to returned item for exchange or refund from a store I was at 150 miles away, I said "F-I-D-O" not worth the aggravation.

As consumers we should have a reasonable expectation of having items we are willing to purchase, produced from manufacturer's, and the ability to acquire said items with as little "BS" as possible ( ie: Newt... no need to elaborate ) The mentality that we as consumers should be ecstatic about what we get and move along, doesn't hold up. ( thats a way to see products fail ), A large scale recurring quality issue with products doesn't help sales, as was mentioned in the guys video, I would may a couple extra bucks, if figures did not break in two minutes.

OK.............. I am sorry for the long rant, been a long long day

I'm so late to this party that all of those in attendance have not only sobered up, but had the chance to complete rehab. Couldn't resist sharing my thoughts, though.

I finally came across the video today (took me a while to find for some reason). While the rant is at times condescending and snide, a consumer exhibiting those traits is far more acceptable than a company owner/director. I don't have a Twitter account, but I am aware of NECA's tweets and even when Randy isn't butting heads with people, he can be rather unprofessional.

IMHO, since this is a company account and not an angsty teenager's private handle, personal opinions and put-downs regarding fans and other brands are unacceptable and come across as immature. Doesn't matter if the content of the posts is a direct offense -- it reflects poorly on the brand to make those sorts of posts at all. Maybe I'm old-fashioned in this regard, but I would prefer distance in the name of professionalism. Right now it just strikes me as poor business to have this sort of childishness coming from an official company page. It's part of why I'm having a harder time taking them and their apologists seriously. I can understand fans and collectors acting like b___hurt prideful children, but I shouldn't be able to detect that from whomever runs the show.

I'm sure you're not advocating that he stop communicating on twitter completely, right? For me it's one of NECA's biggest strengths that we get news and updates on such a regular basis - in contrast to Hot Toys whose total silence is frustrating at best.

However, sure, he could avoid getting engaged in arguments and flamewars and he could avoid mentioning other companies if he doesn't have anything nice to say. Obviously he will have opinions like any of us but he shouldn't be bringing them up while representing NECA.

- creating product is a hard job.
- public relations is a hard job.
- one person shouldn't do them both! exactly to avoid any unpleasant situations.

I think Randy is being unfairly treated for the most part. People just need to understand that he is a person and not solely a company mouth-piece. I don't know why feelings are being hurt. For instance, that guy in that video got offended by someone's opinion on a film, even though he initiated the conversation by slating a different film. There was no reason to take it personally.

A little disappointed that Newt will come out with no accessories and a Ripley I don't want, but the logic in this 2-pack is undeniable. Will definitely pick it up. Anyone want a spare Ripley? ha

...exactly, he begun talking about about a film that I personally love, does it mean I should find it offensive and take it personally? Nope, because it's his opinion. But when someone else did the same thing to him, he went off on a rant and did a YouTube video slandering the person who disagreed with him (and tried to disguise it with complains about the company). I'm sure people expect a more "serious" and "precessional" approach when communicating to customers, but I rather have what we have, even if many times Randy's taste in movies causes him to trash talk things I personally love [emoji14]

Late to the party as always but have to say I like the two pack a lot. Glad that they gave us a new Ripley with the new face and design and Newt packed in is quite cool. Kind of disappointed that it appears Newt's accessories are not included apparently but I guess that is the trade off for a new Ripley head sculpt and anniversary packaging.

I wonder if there is any hope for an Alien 3 Ripley revisit so we can get a new head that is based on her look when she is first up and about after being awoken from the EEV crash ? Maybe add a Bambi burster or Queen chestburster in as a pack in ?

:goodpost: It's not just you. I think it comes across as unprofessional as well. It's one of my many 'complaints' with NECA, and I still seem to find myself perpetually on the fence with regards to supporting them by purchasing. Or not. If only I didn't like cool-looking things... :lol

I like NECA but I do get tired of seeing this crap on their twitter feed. I really don't care if he or his minions have it out for someone. If he didn't respond or retweet them I wouldn't even know they existed.

That's all I'm advocating for. Announcements, a few fun article shares or BTS posts to achieve that pseudo-personal touch, and answers to consumer questions. That ought to be enough.

He can be a person all he wants on his own personal account. I don't have Twitter, but if I did, I wouldn't follow NECA for Randy's perspective on things. I don't think most (if any) consumers do.
