NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

Are any real world guns as poorly designed?

It reminds me a little bit of the MAS-38, an underpowered pre-War SMG with a receiver mechanism that was actually placed at an angle to the actual barrel:





I’d make a joke about French weapon design here but for the fact that the frogs have now been using the rather badass-looking FAMAS for the better part of half a century, a gun which I suspect may also have helped inspire the design of the Colonial Marines’ pulse rifle:

I always saw explained it away because of the mutation caused by the cloning process.

This is what I got from it too. The Xenomorphs had more organic characteristics in Resurrection, while Ripley had the acid blood (or other Xenomorph characteristics seen in the failed 1-7 clones).

But of course, it just boils down to ADI's silly ideas.

The more organic looking Aliens are indeed due to the mixture of human DNA, but it's the director himself that requested ADI to design the creatures as such.

Here's the other gallery. I'm not sure they were shooting the same figure. The photographer was probably well-intentioned and tried to redo a movie scene, but it just looks bad in the first set of images. Soft details and a lazy wash on top. Is it the figure or just poor studio lighting?

I think you'd be looking at no articulation for the head at all if it didn't have that. It's probably the best they could have done.

I hated the new born in the film so wont get the figure.
I am tempted to get the A3 Xeno though.

I only preordered Ripley and the Xeno 2 pack. The AR xenos are my least fave, and the newborn I didn't care for either so that's an easy pass. The A3 xeno is really good, I like that one and the movie which wasn't overly accepted by the fanbase. Oddly the movies release order is how I rank them favorite-wise from best to worst.

My fav NECA xeno is dog alien. I might pick up another one.

Except for the head joint, it looks great.
It will be nice to have it in the collection.

The Newborn was tall, but Ripley was able to reach its face without having to jump, and without it having to bend down.

New Born is a fantastic design up there with Alien, Alien Queen, Predator, The THING.
