I just finished binging the animated series a couple weeks ago. Brought me back to those McDonalds happy meal toys when those were the only kind of BTTF figures you could find.

Will probably pass on the animated figures but I love the fact that they made them.

I only saw one animated Marty at three of the Targets I went to, so somebody is buying them. I'd consider them but there's just way too much other crap coming out right now.

I just realized now that none of the figures they're releasing so far go together lol, but I just hope that means a lot more are coming.

1955 - Tales from Space Marty
1955 - Biff
1955 - Doc

1985 - Marty

2015 - Marty

My local Target just restocked the NECA stuff. They had quite a few of the Sarah / John Connor sets, and I was able to grab the Biff from the Back to the Future Toon set.

I lucked into one today as well! It was the only one I saw at the two Targets I went to.

Overall it's generally what I expected, there's actually more play value in it than I realized. There's no separate masked sculpt, you put all those pieces around the helmeted one that's on the figure in package, so you can still see Marty through the face shield. Because the scene is so dark I think I would've preferred if it was opaque, but it's still a neat feature. I wish he came with two different sculpts. I mean it's nice they gave the second unhelmeted one, but I don't foresee really using it. The faces have digital printing.

I guess I could use it on the regular Marty if I want another sculpt that isn't great? As far as the likeness, it's the same in person as I've seen in any promo pics. Not quite there IMO. The box also says he comes with alternate hands but there are none.

Happened by the same Target later and they were all gone. Glad I popped in earlier and got 2.

I'm really excited about these figures but the head.... smh. Maybe it's the paint but it just doesn't look good.

Either way, they'll look good on my coffee table displayed with my Hot Toys Delorean and various other diecast cars.

Yeah, Marty's sculpts are a disappointment. The paint is good in hand, it's just the sculpt/expression.

This might be the biggest oversight in action figure history. Surely a hand signal can't be a copyright issue, can it?

There is a Funko pop figure with him doing it... though they obviously make a Spock funko (that is doing the same hand pose) so maybe that's how they got it done.

I see nothing online that says you can trademark and hand signal. Closest I can find is University of Texas issuing a cease and desist to a donut shop for making donuts in the Hook'em shape. I feel like NECA has really dropped the ball here.

I probably should download your pictures for reference, because when I looked at all the yellow things in the first picture I thought, man, I have no idea what goes where!
Are there instructions included? There weren't any with the Amphibian guy and I also was a bit lost there.

Nope! That's the first thing I thought when I saw all those pieces, where are the instructions? I mean we're not dummies, but I still find instructions to be nice parts of figures. If nothing else they usually show everything that comes with a figure, so you can know if you're missing something. I basically looked at the back of the box pics and figured out which parts went where. It's not that bad, two are for the closed hood, and two for the open hood. Then the large piece is just for him to hold, I was trying to remember what pose he was in the scene holding it.

Tales From Space Marty is Target Exclusive, yes

I?ve seen elsewhere that the other figures have shown up at Walmarts.

Went to 5 Targets today ..nothing from the movie figures

Only a lot of the animated figures :slap
