It looks right at home! I really need to get proper shelving for all my Blu Rays like in your setup.

I was hoping the box wasnt going to say what was in it... I am having it shipped to my work. Let the judging begin :lol

Awesome photos, Tuesday is the big day! I had mixed thoughts of this figure in the beginning... but after finally seeing the pics people have, its spectacular!

When I saw one in person my first instinct was how poor the paint apps were. However the price point is hard to refuse, and if a figure was offered from Sideshow, Master Replicas, etc it would easily be past the $1000 mark. So with that being said I am quite happy with this! If I feel ambitious maybe one day I can commission a repaint on it.

Talking about judging? Family and friends won't let this one go. I guess I deserve it, who else would take the time to masterfully stage their collectible like this? :cuckoo:m:rotfl

:lol

Great pics everyone!

I still can't get over how cool he looks! I see his little face and content smile every time I go into the living room!

:bouncin

As for judgement, yeeeaahhhh, I got "the look" from my mum. Her only reaction was a look of disgust and a snotty "Where does someone even get something that big?" :rotfl

And thaaaat's why it's soooo cool to be adult! You can kick anyone out for saying mean things about your extra terrestrial friend!

Checked my et and for some odd reason. My order was canceled

From the pictures that people have posted, I can't see where the poor paint application is. I'm not getting defensive (and I don't have this on order anyway) but I am genuinely wondering what about the paint application you find to be less-than desirable (help educate me so I will know what to look for in the future).

To me, considering that this piece is a 3ft tall foam replica, I think that it looks pretty darned nice. I'm not a big E.T. fan and I have absolutely nowhere to put it that the foam won't deteriorate anyway but if I did, I'd probably get this solely based upon the in-hand pictures.

Congrats to all of you and I love the posed kitchen pictures! NICE TOUCH! :D

Okay, I think I understand what some have mentioned regarding paint application. You are comparing this piece to the actual motion picture model, as seen in the picture above. Is that right? If so, I see what you mean.

Mine actually doesn't suffer from too many paint app issues. One I saw in a store was flaking on the arms and had drips on the eyes. It has some seams where they glued the skin but they blended well with the paint. For $250 I am more than satisfied. Something comparable from efx or sideshow would cost well over $1500. The quality would be better of course.

I actually feel a lot better about deterioration. This figure is solidly constructed. The skin over the foam body seems thick. Some users here described it like a nerf ball... But the skin is thicker than that...and the foam much harder. I think this will have a very long longevity. I do think it is a bit front heavy so if you can, slant it backwards a little.

I am more than happy with the purchase.

Not quite. Entertainment earth has him for the same price-and free shipping! However, theirs is not in stock and it won't be until next month, I suppose if you don't mind waiting another month this one is the best deal.

Very nice! Holy grail is a great way to put it. I always had wanted a life size ET but was never happy with the other old offerings such as:

Nah that one isn't one I have. It is a vintage one that I am saying isn't as nice as the Neca one. The vintage one has super weird arms and cost well over 2k. I have seen it in a few comic shops over the years.

So... Nips? Never heard that word used in the US to describe candy hehe. I never thought of getting plastic ones. I would rather display it with a flower pot with fake flowers. But even alone it looks awesome. It really scares my dog :lol

hehe my bad...it should be Reeses candies (instead of nips) wherein Eliot used these pieces of candies to lure ET into the house.....i think Director Steven Spielberg wanted to use M&M's but they wanted too much money for permission, so he asked Reeses and he said once in an interview that they didnt even charge him for the rights - smart, because they sold out everywhere in the world for like 2 years after ET came out in 1982....

mine will arrive next week!

can anyone please tell me the exact measurements? hight width and depth?

i need to find a nice glass vitrine to put him in!!:wave
