14inch & 12inch, what for ?!?!

How many 14inch figures NECA made in the past ? 0

...how many 12" ? 10

..how many 18" ? more than 50 !!!!
too few NECA fans and too many Hot Toys owners with 12" figures are here.

Wern't the first HT Pred's 14"? They looked allright standing next to standard HT stuff but I agree though, 15" would be ideal.
yep. 14" is 7' in 1:6 scale. Kevin Peter Hall was about 7'3" without the costume. in it, he would've been like 7'7" or so. and 15" is 7'6" in 1:6 scale. and these super preds are at least 8', or 16" in 1:6.

in other words, i really have way too much free time.

was the NECA 18" Alien really 18"? nope, it was more like 21". height doesn't matter as much as the scale.

In movie continuity yeah the new super Preds are supposed to be bigger but when you see them in shots even with humans they look nowhere close to 8', they barely pass for 7'. That's why I don't really mind if the super Preds are around the same height as the P1. But yeah if you are going for by movie continuity, 15.5 to 16" would be about correct. I personally like to go with by what I see on screen.

You foreign* lads are obsessed with 18"! No offense. Just an observation. Unless you're all the same person with different accounts.

*by 'foreign' I mean those for whom english is not your first language

The figure itself actually stands almost 22 but when you find a good pose he is 18" big.

anyway, look at the package;

No the problem is we have here on the thread 10x Hot Toys users which wanna have 12" NECA predator, thats all.

But the thing is the 10000x NECA fans out there wanna have 18", because we have already an ALIEN 18" and 12" is not NECAS scale !
You understand this ?:cuckoo:

Personally I'm not interested in 18" but I don't begrudge you from having it. I'm sure its especially frustrating to have an Alien in that scale but no Predator and this P1 sculpt is a juicy candidate if any.

But the thing is this isn't a Neca forum, its a sideshow forum with a heck of a lot of Hot Toys thrown in and only a tiny bit of Neca. Its to be expected that people here will be after 1/6th over anything else. I love 7" and 1/6th myself. Tried 18" but I just found them awkward and not painted well enough considering the possibilities at that size.

Am i the only one who is happy to have just the 7" figures. The 7'' makes me want more variations, i wouldn't have that with a larger scale.

YES, you.... and maybe two or three others :yess:

A cigarette is bigger, but OK i wish you much fun with this terrible scale.

well, as i've pointed out before - this isn't 2003 and 7" figures don't really cut it now. 1:6 is pretty much the standard collector's format these days and it's a huge market that NECA is mostly ignoring. i like the 7" figures too, but just for dioramas and playsets. 1:6 scale is a much better and more versatile medium for iconic character representations.

I wouldn't have just the 7" figures but no you're not the only one, I love this size. And you're right you do get much more variety.

Yes, 12" is Hot Toys scale :monkey1

SIDESHOW made many PF with terrible likeness often, but they are 1/4 , respect for this. :wink1:

A-DEV you belong to the minority, i mean how many NECA collectors collecting HOT TOYS figures ?

100 Worldwide :lecture

Honestly, I stick with 7" figures because they are much more affordable. I'm a college student with a very limited budget, so if I can get a figure for $20 that I can enjoy and display, I'm happy. I calculated it out and for what I paid for my whole collection I could maybe have gotten 2 or 3 Hot Toys figures.

12" is not just HT's scale, it is a huge market, from military to sci-fi, to femme figs to movie franchises.
There's a lot of companies (big and small) producing collectibles in that scale and there is a huge customizer's market as well.
NECA has made figures in all three scales: 7", 12" and 18", so they are not averse to the 1/6 scale market.
In the end, it is a question of trends. Right now the trend seems to be moving towards high-end posable figures in 1/6 scale and high-end mixed media statues in larger scales. NECA is not offering their figures in either format, so maybe they are missing out on a piece of the action.
Of course, the 7" format is still their main market, and I'm sure it will continue to be so.

And flacco, I think if you look around you'll find out you're the minority.

Yes and thats why the Pescadero 12" sold like butter :lol

Show me on YOUTUBE one guy with a 12 "collection (NECA) , you can search very long.:lol

NECA BUILT TOO FEW 12" in the past , no one wants them now, ok some HOT TOYS 12" collectors :lol

NECAs market is since 2004; 7" and 18"

If someone collected 7" or 18" so many years, he doesnt buy, wants and needs 12" figures , logically

I wouldn't call myself either a NECA collector or a Hot Toys collector. I'm a Terminator/predator/Alien/Robocop poseable figure collector. NECA and Hot Toys happen to be the ones making the best poseable figures from those licences.

flacco reminds me of some previous member that was very avid in getting NECA to do 18" figures. Maybe I am making ____ up, just seems like this conversation was held several months ago.

Yeah, him and Gigerfan both remind me of that "other" person. :slap

They're like broken records...same ____ over and over again.
