read my post. did i attack everyone here who enjoy the figs or did i attack neca's way of doing things? you like it? good. feel free to enjoy it. i bought the figs myself, so that should tell you something. what's stupid to me is when someone feels his enjoyment is lessened whenever someone else criticized something he likes.

All I'm curious about is why you bought it, if you could tell the selection of decent-looking ones was piss-poor. I mean, it's clear they're $15. Berserker's paint apps are shoddy, to say the least. But if it was really that big of a problem that you just complain about it, I don't see why you'd get it.

I saw these guys today in my local geek shop. I'm sorry to say that I thought the berserker and falconer were OK but the classic looked terrible. Really plasticky and nothing like Tankman's original sculpt. What went wrong?

it IS tankman's original sculpt, just the paint is bad.

i must have liked the tankman's sculpt enough then, despite the crappy paint app. and you must stop using the $15 price tag as an excuse for lousy paint app. that sculpt alone is worth more than $15. and i've seen great paint app on past mcfarlane's $10 figs, and worse paint app on $100 figs. the price is besides the point. either the toymaker choose to have a standard, or they dont. it's that simple.

I've got the AVP unmasked Wolf Predator and he looks awesome. The paint work is great on him. In fact he's perfect which is a great relief after the disappointments I had with the Alien and Aliens figures. It seems that whichever factory NECA used for the AVP figures did a pretty good job, however the factories they used for the 18" & 7" Alien, Aliens & Predators figures need a stern talking to. Coincidently the shop also had what appeared to be some re-tooled 7" Alien figures. They had frosted domes and lacked the clear plastic tendons on the jaw. Sadly the paint apps on the teeth and gums were beyond shoddy and both of the figures I examined had holes in them and should not have passed QC and left the factory.

Of course I could be completely wrong on all this and it's the same factory. Who knows?

To my mind It's just a real shame that Tankman's amazing work is not getting the treatment it deserves.

As for the paint on Classic, i haven't seen him in person, but from the pics i've seen he looks terrible.. The paint on Wolf and Falconer is good though. On some the paint looks great, others not so much. Since the sculpt on Classic is that good, you'd expect the paint to be a bit..improved. The sloppy paint really makes you think the sculpt is horribl. Yes, they are 15$, but if it's going to be worse than expected is there really even a point?

I disagree...it is not perfect but in general a great classic predator figure
