those dreads are pissing me off.... Randy is such a jerk... wtf. Your hate for a movie is stopping you from releasing a movie accurate figure

never heard anything more childish and petty in my entire life. he is acting like a middle school kid.

in the movie they were a longer and more fuller than the ones on the figure. i get that randy doesnt want the predator to be fat beasts but why mess with the dreads?

Maybe it has something to do with the articulation? You're probably right, it seems that if they aren't huge fans of the films, they neglect small details like that.

he made it very clear they will look nothing like the movies (except for the armor) it took like 20 Kenner series for him to finally say yes and then with the condition that they looked nothing like the movie.
the dreads are part of his change to erase the movie look

I know i should be happy they are being made, but it bothers me when Randy had no problem making the Twilight toys... wtf

I didn't know that? Then why are they making them? :lol

people begged him so much he kind of just HAD to release them. for the longest time he always said NO to AVP predators, people on twitter kept asking and he used to say no.
then the Kenner line bullcrap started and when people asked about AVP he said maybe in the future. then finally he said they were coming soon, that was years ago.

I guess he realized that even though he hates the movie so much, they will make him a lot of money.

but like I said before, he is agreeing to making them on the condition that they look NOTHING like the movie version of the predators. they are skinny and have short dreads.
Randy is a manchild

Its all part of his game. He says no, then he 'relents' and everyone buys them despite inaccuracies. Next we will get a couple years of him saying "no" to accurate figures before he 'relents' again to release the 'accurate 2.0' AvP preds and everyone will lose their mind and buy them all over again.

Whether he is childish or an evil genius, the man knows how to milk a money cow.

Lol.. That's probably exactly what will happen. Smh

Like the shoulder-joints on Robocop?

...I have to book-mark this thread for reference the next time I'm in an argument with some twerp who insists that NECA will only make figures if they're 110% accurate to the source materials...

I didn't noticed Robocop's shoulders, but as a big Rambo fan, I found some inexcusable mistakes with their Rambo 2 figure...mistakes that you don't see in their beloved Planet of the Apes line. For example, Rambo's knife should be black, but they painted the blade silver, making his signature weapon, look like a generic knife. His M60 machine gun has a strap, and in the film, it doesn't. Also, Rambo had a scar on the left side of his face, and the figure doesn't have it.

For a long time I thought it was a fully deserved reputation but they did fall down a bit on figures like the Predator 2 Elder, the AvPs here, I don't think the mask on the P2 City Hunter is quite right and bigbisont might be able to point to some things they did wrong with the USCM figures produced so far.

There's no way that they could possibly accommodate human arms inside of them.

The Aliens USCM figures have a number of inaccuracies as well. Their boots are brown when they should be green, their weapons and motion-trackers are green when they should be brown, their hand-welders are attached with sculpted web straps rather than lanyards, Hicks should only have one pouch on his belt, both figures' watch-straps should be black (I think, anyway; determining the actual colour of objects seen onscreen can be tricky), Hudson's sweatband should be green and sculpted differently than Hicks's, his knife/sheathe should be black and his helmet should be painted with a camouflage pattern matching his BDUs, not his body armour. Hudson is also missing the leather lanyard/necklace thing he wears and "final battle" version is missing the additional bandages that he had on the fingers of his right hand in that scene (and I've probably forgotten a few more besides, but I'm sure bigbisont can fill you in).

The accessories for the single-packed Hicks and Hudson were also screwed up, as those two figures are clearly and obviously based on the "Game over, man!" scene, but there, Hudson has no lamp-pack whereas Hicks does but no longer has his shotgun/holster.

They're all pretty minor details, but still, they make claims of absolute accuracy on NECA's part rather laughable.
