I don't have a Blu Ray player yet, so I can't answer you, I just got my first HD TV a month ago :lol.

As for the figure, the 18" already sell for about $50, so raised price would be about $75-$100.

I don't know what it's like in the rest of the world, but in the U.S. NECA's sold in mall teen stores and Toys R Us and places where the majority of customers are looking to spend small cash, I'm always seeing the 12" and 18" stuff collecting dust, even some 7" but usually the crappy ones. At least here in the states, raising prices on an 18" NECA figure would likely make it even less marketable than they are already.

I'm not rooting against the idea, just from what I see in the stores, I don't feel confident about it happening. I want the 18" Predator, I don't have the CM nor will I ever spend that much on one piece, but this NECA figure would look fantastic as a large Predator in the collection and the pose would let it stand fine on its own.

Weird, I just got my first HD TV around the same time:rotfl I've just been purchasing all my Classic favs on Blu-Ray(Predator 2, T2,T1) I'm waiting for the Alien Quadrilogy Blu-Ray release, as well as the Ultimate Hunter Edition of Predator.

Those Prices make sense, the Toys R Us near me won't carry NECA, and all the Teen stores in the malls only carry the 7" ones:gah:

I've got the Sideshow Pred fever ever since I bought my 1st 1:1 piece...... I really want the CM, but I'm not gonna drop a small fortune on it.

I'd say that the possibility of a larger scale figure is directly dependent on how well the small scale figures sell. So if you want a larger scale fig, better buy the smaller ones.

Spenser's sometimes has the 12" NECA figures up on the top of their display shelves. If yours is anything like my local store, there's so much crap cluttered up there you maybe wanna ask the employee to have a look.

Ok, not even warning anymore, inappropriate behavior is getting automatically infracted from here on out.

Yup, if NECA"s going to do a large scale Predator, 18" is most desirable, the 7" scale will be covered, HT recently and affordably covered 12", but 18" isn't really out there, the Sideshow maquette is very old and very expensive so no option today, and the Cinemaquette, though much bigger than 18", is also very expensive. A NECA 18" would provide an affordable, nice looking Predator to fill the large scale void.

Ok, yeah it's not much, but Randy from NECA has posted a pic of a bunch of Predator figure backpacks at the factory.

Honestly, I'd rather have an 18" Predator, to match their Alien figure.

Hot Toys has the 1:6 market covered. I'd rather have a bigger figure from NECA.

I didn't buy the P1 figure from Hot Toys because i think it was not a great effort put forth by them. I am hoping that Neca's Predator 1+2 figures turn out well and they offer 12inch versions.

I have no desire to own big clunky $60-80 18inch figures.

it was said it will be jan. before we get p1 and p2 figures,
that don't make sense,we have to wait that long,
i wonder if it is even true.

I'd be all over an 18" P1. Their giger alien was great, and I'd love the pred to go with it. Also, the 7" loses so much detail, I probably won't even bother with it. The large scale prototype we saw looked like it stepped right out of the movie. I can assure the 7" will not have that clean crispness and presence. Why would anyone pass on the 18". I think it's the best looking predator I've ever seen, bar none.

:( Ugh. Then i'm putting them on ignore. I wouldnt go to a Russian forum and try to mingle with them....:dunno

But I digress.

I'll probably check the 7 inch figures out, but really was hoping for an 18. When I buy those small figures they just seem to end up in pieces or just thrown around.
