Is NECA releasing a naked Engineer?

I want to buy an engineer but the way he appeared at the beginning of the movie. I don't want one with the suit on.

Did NECA ever mention why David doesnt come with pulled neck piece?
Was it cut for costs?

I believe the David head is coming with the Shaw figure.

Sabres is correct. David's severed head (along w the axe from one of the deleted scenes) is slated to come with shaw in series 3 (if sales of S2 justify S3). Neca has no plans to produce the "sacrificial engineer". There are 6 more figures neca hopes to release (shaw, fifield, holloway, vickers, hologram pressure suit engineer, and hologram chair suit engineer). we'll see how far they get. I hope that, at the very least, we get series 3.

Cool that Neca Confirmed that.

I don't understand why they wouldn't do the others now they have the male and female buck after Shaw and David. Fifield reuses the David body, right? Just different paint apps.
So do we need to buy extra Davids and Shaws so that we commission the heads of the other teammembers ourselves like Weyland, Holloway and Vickers, etc?

Oh, and definitely want a sacrifice naked Engineer!

yeah. randy falk is really awesome about keeping fans in the loop. he's constantly spilling info regarding future products/ the status of a particular line etc.

As far as the other figures are concerned...they dont actually have a 7" female body completed yet. they have the prototype for shaw completed, but they are waiting to see how series 2 does before taking the plunge with shaw and fifield (series 3). Speaking of fifield, he does not utilize the same body as david. Fifield is, in fact, the "infected" fifield...all messed up from head to toe etc (i so hope he comes w an urn). Having said that, your comment about purchasing extra davids is valid. in fact, ive done just that. Neca's Holloway figure, should he ever come out, would share the exact same body/suit sculpt w david. Holloway would come w an infected head and a non-infected head. Basically, if things go to pot with the line, ill have quite a few extras of david so i can do custom heads and pop them on his body. I hope Shaw comes out so we have a female body/suit as well. Btw...the shaw figure will have the red/orange piping on her suit. Looks great.

*EDIT: I stand corrected. I went back and looked at fifields prototype. He DOES have the exact same body sculpt as david. The paint app on him is so nasty and grungy that i thought some of his suit was sculpted as "broken". Not the case. As you said...just radically different paint apps is all. So...david, fifield, and holloway would all share the same body sculpt and holloway and david would share the same paint apps as well (identical aside from the heads etc.)

I had to look 3 times to see it was the same body sculpt too.
It is just a compliment to the sculpt.
Lets hope Shaw becomes a reality!

Got my Deacon and David 8 at TRU yesterday. Deacon is a pretty nice figure, though I'm still not 100% sold on his design yet. I did take some shots of him last night...I tried to make them very eerie, although they seem to have turned out a little too dark....

The background/wall is a repainted section of the old Kenner Wayne Manor/Batcave playset. The floor is a repainted section of the old GI Joe Shuttle Defiant launch complex.
