I purchased Rambo Part 2 because it was a figure/license I wanted in my collection. I was not to impressed when I saw initial production figures online/ youtube review and basically said “Ehh” when I saw it in stores. I have to admit the skin tone plastic is getting old for me.

Comparing this experience to purchasing both Planet of the Apes series (old and new) is night and day. The paint apps on these are amazing. WOW. The Gorilla Soldier or Maurice amazing life like paint apps. How do they differ? Where does Neca go wrong? You could say Human likeness but I think Hudson and Hicks turned out fine!!!!

How many paint factories does NECA have in China. I find it hard to believe that this and original Planet of the Apes come from the same factory!!

They either have a few or different units within, but there's a clear A squad and B squad of work with them, and it seems like, depending what's in production, passion projects get the absolute best, which you can tell Apes are, and then things like Rambo, which are still something they want to do or else they wouldn't even make the figures, gets the lesser quality. The overall figures are great and I'm just glad to get more Rambo, but being a long time NECA collector, I have seen their best and worst and I hate that the Stallone properties seem to most often get the worst, there were some gems in Rocky but it was timing, series 1 wasn't so great, Rocky IV is really well done, I wish the Rambos had that skin quality. Survival First Blood has great skintone but the sculpt and eye paint look like he's stoned, it's a shame the original FB figure wasn't as good, I'm guessing there wasn't much tying up the A squad when the survival figure went through production.

Yeah, it seems like the Stallone stuff gets treated as an afterthought, unfortunately.

Holy **** look at those eyes! WTF is wrong with NECA? Those damn dirty apes and the Predators figures look really nice, but they can't even paint Rambo's nipples straight? :cuss Who has a nipples like that? :gah:

Good lord those eyes are bad! Even the other samples I saw when I picked out mine weren't that atrocious.

Yeah it sucks having **** quality but I'm still getting this new fig and the next one in line. Hopefully the next one isn't as bad as this one.

got my Rambo 2 today, very p-poor qc on the paintjob, the factory neca used really sucks, but I blame neca just as much as the factory,i feel like I was ripped off for sure.

The main issue is the eyes but I do feel it lacks the “WOW” factor overall! NECA has figure that when you look at “in hand” for the first time you are so impressed. Sculpt, paint everything is so tight that it portrays realism. Rambo is not at that caliber.

I am still very happy that NECA has acquired this license and we have a adult action figure in our collection.

Correct, many Rambo figures have really bad looking eyes.

I bought one from Big Bad Toy Store, but I have the pile of loot activated, which means they send the figure along with other stuff that I bought a while back together to save money on the shipping and handling, but I won't get it until next month maybe, so I have no idea if my Rambo figure that I already paid for has the bad eyes. Also, my local TRU sucks. They don't even have any NECA figures, except a few Planet of the Apes figures, but no Rambo, so I can't even buy one from the store and choose one that looks good.

Online purchases for NECA is a no no for me.....I like to go through NECA figures and select the best. But of course if you are unable to what other option but online purchase do you have.
