Time happened, we watch and rewatch these movies for years, so we get a mental image of someone of how the looked 20 years ago and it gets stuck.....time count and keeps on counting.......

Lets play a game! Ready?

Get a mental image in your head of Val Kilmer....

val-kilmer-macgruber-premiere.jpg

Old picture. Val's had some health issues in the last year and a half and it skinny to the point of being gaunt. The celeb raqs say it's a throat tumor, unknown if it's a cancer. Kilmer is a Christian Scientist which would limit treatment options.

Sadly Val has taken the approach (not to the letter but much like) that Steve Jobs did when he found out about his Pancreatic Cancer. I talk to Woz all the time since he's like family and he's said in numerous occasions, that wouldn't have happened if he would've had a better and consistent diet that wasn't just fruit when he was younger.[emoji20]
Sadly Val is heading the same way as Jobs. Let's hope that he's actually getting proper treatment. Great actor.
Still Top Gun's Iceman is one of my favorite of his roles.

How long ago was that taken?

That was 2011. Looks like EW recycled the pic. The other one was taken last year.

Sucks to hear about Kilmer. According to Wikipedia:

"In January 2015, Kilmer was hospitalized for massive bleeding in his throat. It was reported that Kilmer has a throat tumor and refused to seek treatment due to his religion, though Kilmer denies this."

He's also supposedly a devout Christian Scientist. I hope that doesn't kill him.

Yeah, I hope he goes ahead with the treatment. :(

He's very open about his affiliation as a Christian Scientist. Unfortunately there's no shortage of stories where that didn't work out for someone who's sick.

Almost every recent picture of him there's something wrapped around his neck. Sucks.

BTW his best movie without debate is Real Genius.

Not to oversimplify the religion but apparently, adherents believe that illness can be cured by the power of prayer? Oy. :slap

And I say wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one fills up first.

This is the one issue I have with religion. I don't have a problem with having faith to give strength during the hard time, but when there are things out there that can help or cure you, I don't see the point in hoping for divine intervention.

Yep, absolutely. Medicine will cure you for most diseases, majority of the time. I don't understand why some people wait for 'miracles' that happen once in a blue moon, instead of going for something that consistently yields results.
