Alright, just finished. Overall, the show was aight. Got say, it's the worst one of all 3 Defender shows so far. I was really digging it right until Cottonmouth died. I was liking the character and the plot up until then. Cottonmouth was intriguing to watch. He was a man way out of his depth, making all sorts of mistakes and bad calls but he was still a the top and full of himself. It was fun to watch, and it was beautifully acted by Mahershala Ali.

I kind of hated Shades, not because he succeed in the end but because he was a nobody who succeed in the end. I mean, he walked tall but he was a nobody, just some common thug that thinks he so freaking smart. Dude just got lucky in the end that it all fell into place for him and Mariah to succeed. I wish Cage had slapped him around like the ***** that he was. That fool wears sunglasses at night :slap. I wish Zip (which was awesome) had gotten the best of him.

Oh, I didn't like that whole family plot with Diamondback and Cage... wish they hadn't gone that route. Also, not too happy that it looks like Diamondback will be getting his own set of powers now. Cheap...

On more complaint, Luke and Claire relationship. Couldn't they just have been buddies? The had that friendly/flirty back and forth going and it was fun to watch but it should have been as far as it went. That stupid kiss felt forced in the end. Now what, we can expect a love triangle between Luke, Jessica and Claire? Freaking dumb... don't turn this into one of those awful CW shows.

Oh, and Luke was WAY too under powered. As if that wasn't bad enough, what's the point of having the guy be bullet proof then completely get rid off his one advantage with those Judas bullets. Now, any schmoe can be a threat to the guy. Don't even bring him over to the Defenders, he is useless now. Let him stay home and just give him a call when DD, JJ and IF need someone to break a few doors.

6/10 - Won't watch again.

Yeah, those Judas bullets... Now they can be used to kill off the Defenders and every super power person in the MCU if they can almost kill off Cage with his bullet proof skin.

I really don't get it, in one breath people complain that Luke Cage didn't have a good enough adversary and then in the next breath they're complaining that the Judas bullet was too strong of an adversary lol.

He needed a super villain to battle- someone to test and challege his mettle and strength. The judas bullet is a cop out and problematic for future stories.

One of the best eps of JJ was when she fought cage. It was a challenege to her powers. She had to be resourceful to beat him and killgrave. Thats what made it good. Admittedly im only on ep 9 or so but i dont see a new villain being introduced at this stage.

I say it's equally important to have a bullet proof hero having his journey attacked. What makes him a hero, what shapes his path and his neighborhood. I loved how lies, deceit, wealth and connections were just as potent an enemy as another super powered person.

Besides the bullets weren't being fired out of thin air, his nemesis was doing the shooting.

Weapons to counter superheroes is a very relevant and realistic scenario, why should it be taboo and not touched upon as a primary threat to superheroes?

Anti superhero weapons makes perfect sense to me.

Humans kill each other with weapons in a heartbeat you think we wouldn't immediately use it against a super being!

Besides, it made for a cool Hammertech IM2 reference lol.

Uh, because now all the heroes needs Vibranium armor head to toe or they will be worthless. The cops all have these bullets and so will the enemies.

Some of you pricks should spoiler tag your ****

I should know better and stay out but damn, show isn't a week old

Watched a few episodes making it thru 8. It's a shame both JJ and LC villains are more interesting with better back stories. I really enjoy Cottonmouth's arc ..... music and atmosphere pretty good too.....I still feel weakest of the three thru 8.

Believe me, I get the complaints that the show was boring.

I was just too caught up in his world to feel that way BUT I can see how some could feel that way, the show got too convoluted because of the 13 episode curse.

Some are complaining that it didn't go far enough with the calling out the white police on black problem and that it went too far portraying blacks as criminal.

Some are just saying it was boring.

Critics sits at 96%, Fans at 76%.

Netflix seems to have heard the complaints because Defenders will only be 8 episodes long.

But I bet that has more to do with the budget lol.

Damn, only 8 episodes? Long are the days of when a TV show season was 20 episodes and above.

I have one more episode to watch. I've enjoyed the show but probably won't watch it again. Music and some of the characters are great, but overall I just feel like it's going on too long. The first 7 epidodes were much better than the rest, mostly because of Cottonmouth. Diamondback seems like he could have been a decent villain, but I'm disappointed with the "daddy loved you more" storyline.

3 into it and it's been ok, but just that. I feel the story it wants to tell so far should be wrapped up in 5 maybe 6 episodes. But then I see it's 13??

Yeah unfortunately 13 episodes, one episode that is a complete waste of time on a psychology profile of a character that went on for far too long.

They tried too much with the politics of law enforcement and it got sloppy.

The show got cold feet and became afraid to go too far with the police brutality part and the message just got convoluted and at times too on the nose.

They tried to balance both sides of the argument and now both sides have problems with the final message lol.

Diamondback's problem with Cage hurt the show as well and we never even learned what got him in Seagate to begin with, what was the set up that his brother was responsible for?

However, I loved how his wife went from being the love of his life, his savior....to a bad *****!

I also loved the ending, bad guys won and Cage went back to jail, at least temporary because his friend found the envelope that would clear his name. That is a different kind of ending, almost Empire Strikes Back like lol

I watched a few episodes tonight 9 and 10....already wondering what purpose they serve.....bath was plain stupid with horrid acting might as well toss in the church scene....based on replies not expecting much on the remaining episodes....
