Never buy an old house.

Last Tuesday I heard some tweeting inside my studio. A bird had gotten inside the roof and I moved a piece of trim to try and evict it. I hear this horrible ripping sound as the wood comes off in my hand and I see daylight through the wall.
So I start ripping off the drywall to see how bad it was.

The wall was completely rotted away and the only thing left in one spot was the vinyl siding.
Thank God for working construction during college.
Here's what it looks like now.

Still a bit more to do but all in all, not too bad.

But construction on new homes can be a gamble too. Many shortcuts, as I've heard from some friends that bought new homes.

Oh yeah, I used to love using the one we had on the boat. It was a great way to let off some steam and get a great workout. I've been trying to get the wife to let me have one here, but she thinks it would be an "eyesore"

I'll talk her into it eventually. I always do.

just ask her who is the most reviled person on earth that she would love to beat the crap out of & blow a picture up and put it on the punching bag...........she may not look at it as an eye sore anymore..........BUT........hope she doesnt mention your name in said conversation
