Does anyone know WHY the queen in AVP was so much bigger than the original?

The AvP queen was MUCH older than the younger queen from Aliens. This is why the AvP queen was larger in size. If you remember, the Predators had her captive on the heart of the pyramid for breeding/ hunting purpose. She very well may have been a few hundred/ thousand years old being kept alive in her frozen slumber until being awoke for the hunt.
