New 1:6th Star Wars figure from Original Trology

In irc over Spooktacular a Sideshow member of staff informed us that the new 1:6th Star Wars figure is not only "awesome" but from the The Original Trilogy

Has anybody been able to gleam anymore clues to the next release ?

Knowing this info whats your prediction ?

I'm going to have to go with Vader. Maybe it's just wishful thinking.

I'm hoping for a B'omarr Monk. It would continue the Jabba range and is "creepy" in keeping with Spooktacular. Of course it's also highly unlikely!

Not all announcements are 'horror' related this week. I still think Lando. We need more heroes. It would be great to see a Tarkin though.

And we can forget about an armored character or Chewie. It was said earlier in the year that Chewie is a long way off at best and they don't know if he would ever be done

Why can we forget about armored characters? It was my understanding that they were working with hot toys to solve the armor and body issue. they have the new body design, and 2008 was sopost to be the year of armor, Boushh was a lightly armored character ( in my opinion, a test figure) Vader has slightly more armor than Boushh, we've already seen a few pre orders for 2008, so We might see vader sooner rather than Later. He's iconic, He's awesome, and he's wrapped in darkness.

It could still be a lando, But I'll be honest, I don;t see a SSC employee refering to lando as "awesome" He's just a guy. A very suave, smooth talking guy, true, but still just a guy.

Failing an armored character, Perhaps something on a short body? Jawa, Or Yoda perhaps?

Not sure how I feel about that. I DO want a Vader sooner rather than later but I don't want it on a crappy Buck body, even knowing I can replace it.

Interesting. I have never seen that one. Sure seems to point to Vader, but I would be mighty surprised if they choose spooktacular to announce him. Seems more like a TF or SDCC caliber announcement to me.

OH I don't Know Pix, He would fit in nicely, and we have not really had a major bomb dropped yet this year. Palpatine was close, but there really wasn't an announcemnt at SDCC that really had the shock value like Jabba. Could just be wishful thinking.

When SS put the Medi Fett's up for order they hinted that armored characters were in development but were still a few years out. I'd love a Vader as much as anyone else here but I really don't expect it anytime soon.

We don't even know if that 'revenge' hint was SW related.

Too true. Though it was my understanding that Fett went up before the Partnership with hot toys that yeilded the new body design? In adition, when was the pre-order for boba put up? Meh. It's probobly all wishful thinking. Granted though, as I said earlier, Vader is only slightly more armored than Boushh

My first thought was Yoda when I saw that... didn't he say the line that was close to that.

My prediction on an awesome OT figure is we see Farmboy Luke or ANH Solo, I can't imagine other character that would get the support from that statement. As for the Mistress' revenge statement, there are MANY properties in which characters develop a life a revenge with concerns of what sort of evil that could make of them, doesn't necessarily mean anything to do with Star Wars, and if it did, could easily fit AOTC Anakin for killing the Tuskens, not Vader.
