New 12" Ghosbusters Pics from SDCC!!!

These look nice for the money. the equipment and outfit are worth the money alone. anyone that has tried to kitbash one would know. Hell a resin pack almost cost that price. Then looking for a jumpsuit, replica scaled patches $10 set. It adds up fast.

As far as comparing to Hot Toys. These are not meant to be comparable to HT these are meant to be affordable toys. Not overpriced collectibles they are aimed at a totally different market.

what ido knw tho is those 12" figures need smoothing down costume wise and the packs need sitting on their backs more striaght aha. plus they would have looked cooler if whoever displayed them would have stood them in a fairly cool stance instead of jst sticking em on a display stand around the waist, lol..om im getting picky hehe


btw, can some1 answer my question regarding the costume, can the flightsuit be removed so we can change bodys? the suit looks sewn up to me on the front so not sure how u cud get it off the body.

Yeah the packs look pretty good, and with lights thats a bonus. im interested to knw how they compare to nickatrons packs, especially in size.

i gota say tho, looking at those pics of the 12" figs frm comic con, they need smoothing down costume wise and the proton pack needs straightening up on their backs, they look like whoever put em out on display jst stook em on a stand, they could have put em in a fairly cool stance or something mayb?

also, any1 have any idea how the costume can be removed frm the fig if we changebodys? by looking at the pics the frnt of the flight suit looks sewn up, so not sure if the suit can be taken off??

and if ppl are using hot toys true types, what black gloved hands can u use?? as i found that black gloved hands like they have are hard to find for ht bodys. dragons are easier.

I saw these and the uniforms and packs look great. Of all the headsculpts only Ernie Hudson doesn't seem to be as cartoony and looks like the actor. Murray looks like him but a cartoon version and the other 2 don't really resemble the actors at all.

We're definitely spoiled by HT with likenesses - but I don't think just quoting the price difference is going to make us happy about the less than perfect figures for such a beloved property. And since Mattel thinks these are high end, there's little chance that another company would get an opportunity to make high end 1/6 figures.

Isn't that funny that Hudson (kind of the least important GB) gets the most accurate looking sculpt Luckily they all seem recognizable and I think could make for a great display.

Yeah i agree with what darklord said for sure, winston is the only 1 that is spot on for likeness to the actor imo, id love to get ernie to sign that figure if iever met him again. the bill murray sculpt is ok aswel but like every1 has daid a cartoony version of venkman but again still pretty worth getting.

and i gota say galactic, winston was always my fave, i duno why, he just didnt take crap and was funny and dry, amore level headed then the otherslol so i wouldnt say he was the least important, he is an important part of the team id say. plus he wouldnt have been overlooked so much if he had been in the movie more like he was intended to be from the original script.

but over all im def guna get the 4 of these.

I would hazard they outfits open from the back... likely velco given the price point. But purely speculation on my part.

yeah i was thinking velcrow fastening aswel galactic. is that what mattel have used in the past?? i wouldnt be suprised, esp as it was posted some time ago that the suits wouldnt feature working zippers etc, which is alittle disapointing!! velcrow at the back is the only thing ican think of. that way, it will be covered by the proton pack anyway. the outfit needs wetting down with the water technique tho ithink, so it looks less stiff and hangs better. im excited about these.


im excited to see what the packaging will look like. im suprised they didnt have a boxed version of one ofthe guys on display with these!

Thanks Kuzeh, I agree (re: the gear). Switch the suits and gear to True-types, add new boots and gloves, Spensers headsculpts, give it all the weathering treatment and voila! You'll have some AMAZING GB figures! Can't wait!

Yes, they had him displayed like that at Mattel's booth,
and they'll do the same for the 6" version (the proto doesn't though)....
