Got Deadpool, he kicks ass, the only thing in the Universe/Origins line I was interested in. Hopefully that new Punisher series 3 comes out better then the 1st.

I found black panther today and picked him up but I think that's all now (Surfer,Goblin,Spidey, Cap) of this line for me.

I finally saw these today

8.44$:rotfl:rotfl

Yeah.......no thanks! But if i was a kid i'd be bugging mommy for sure to get em.

I caved in and bought a few...

Picked up Deadpool, Wolverine Yellow/brown uniforms (movie) & Stealth Iron Man...Passed on the rest.

This line looks lame, IMO.

I don't want Marvel toys that can be beaten up by Star Wars toys. :lol

I agree with this, but I will go a little further and say this line sucks.
IMO one of the biggest mistakes that Marvel has made over the past few
years is going with Hasbro. The Toy Biz figures are so much better then
the crap that Hasbro calls Marvel figures.

I'm not saying that Hasbro itself sucks, cause I think the Transformer and Star Wars lines are cool, but their Marvel lines SUCK.

Hulk looks like he has down sydrome. IMO, these are birthday cake toy bad.

That's a fine way of putting it, and with the price being what it is for these, there's no way collectors are going to be snagging these in droves for anything other than customs, and thus we have another line relegated to the kiddies.

I picked up Deadpool last week, and as with the Spidey I got, I am not impressed. These wouldn't be too bad if they were $5, but no way they are worth their price (Deadpool costed me about $9 at Wal-Mart).

I'll get the comic packs for brown Wolvie and Cap, as well as a "Classic" Iron Man (to round out the old "Secret Wars" good guys releases), but probably not much else.

Well so far I have comic yellow and blue Wolvie from the movie line, Spidey, Surfer and Torch ... out of those I like Wolvie, Spidey is pretty good, but Surfer has issues and Torch just flat out sucks. My issue is that they are basically using the same three bodies where they can and STILL charging $8 or $9. The clip on accessories blow, they need more articulation because whats there is terrible. Spidey is only good because it's a unique figure and Wolvie works because of the ball at the hip. Surfer needs lower leg cuts or the ball at the hip.. and they just need to start over on Torch. It was a good idea, a 3 3/4 inch line.. but the execution from Hasbro absolutely sucks. In fact, I may just track down as many of the Marvel Showdown figures as I can, or maybe just Surfer so I can have a cool set up with the big ole Galactus.

I don't know why, but I bought a few of these boogers the other day while shopping for house goods.

Got Deadpool, Maverick, Gambit, Brown Wolvie & Ronin. Will probably keep Deadpool & Wolvie at the office and give the others to my nephews. Kinda neat, but still just action figure toys. Not quite up to the quality that Hasbro's Star Wars figures have reached.

Well other than The Thing, Hulk and Juggernaut, Toy Biz's Showdown figures were nothing but little POS's too. The Showdown Juggernaut is prolly the best figure of that character made though.

I got the dead pool the other day. The figure looks ok and all, but it is pretty cheap quality. One of his legs is so loose, he can barely stand. I had to file my swords to get something that resembles a point. I do not see myself buying anymore of these. The few GI Joes I have are much better quality wise. These should be priced around 5 bucks IMO. If mine was to be played with by a child for a few days, he would be a ragdoll. :wacky

:lecture

I picked up a few of these, for the same reason that I got the Universe ones--they are in scale with Joes--but I hated them. Their limbs would just fall off they were so cheap. However, let me add Colossus to your list. That was the one SHS figure I had that was half-way decent (and the only one I kept).

Sorry, I meant to put in there that I was talking about
the Marvel Legends figures that Toy Biz produced. I have
to agree with you on the Showdown figures that TB made,
they were crap too.:D

Just saw the Punisher; his head is HUGE. QC went out the window on that one!

BB
I think that one was realized to be a mistake, and was released in small quantities as a result (and is now hard to find). Supposedly they are releasing a "better" version. Don't know that quality control has much to do with the size of the head sculpt, though. Just bad design.

But someone in the QC department had to approve it before it was mass produced. The heads on all the other figures are similar in size.

BB

I guess that's possible. I don't know the ins-and-outs of producing toys, but I thought of "quality control" as being those who observe production, making sure that paint isn't applied incorrectly, that the right arms are connected, that stuff won't fall off or break easily, etc. I assumed that someone at Hasbro OK'd the head for this guy before sending it off for production, and that that was where the problem originated. If so, then QC wouldn't have anything to do with it.

Although, again, I really have knowledge of how things really work, so I'll just defer to your response :)
