Yes and no. I don't think the movie's success has bearing on products. Hulk fans are Hulk fans and I don't think the movies so-so numbers are indicative that Hulk's design is the problem. I know some Hulk looks are more popular, but I think if you make a kickass looking product, doesn't matter which incarnation it is, it will sell. And I think the movie's numbers reflect more that Hulk movies will always be limited to appeal to Hulk fans but may struggle to get new ones, it's just not a story/character like Iron Man or Batman or Spider-Man, it's more tragic and there's a bigger feeling of loneliness and isolation with it.
I think manufacturer's would do just fine seeling Hulk merch with the movie design, just don't push that it's from the movie, market it as a new Hulk piece where the design is based on the movie and you'll be fine, and don't incorporate the movie Abomination as I know a lot of hardcores hated that.
