Well, if there's no second body but a head, hands and full costume, I'd guess about $270, that's figuring average of $150 for a figure, 2 figures would be $300, then take away $30 because that's what a TT body is going for right now.

HT has been pretty reasonable on their prices so far. Especially considering companies like SS and Medicom have increased their's. You can pick up an awesome figure like Dutch or a POTA ape for less than $150, actually closer to the $100 mark for a lot of things. I don't see HT sticking a huge price tag on stuff especially considering the economic situaition.

I do notice the shoulders not being as broad on this figure. Maybe a new body is being used.

I'm guessing we won't see a smiling (Confab) Joker head. Maybe if they include a third head, but I'm not seeing it based on the (side) view shown. He wasn't smiling when he revealed the grenade rig. I think the sculpt will have a "wide-eyed" expression.

I don't see the criticism on the sculpt. Looks like Heath Ledger as the Joker in the scene it represents. The expression looks perfect. Personally I saw very little of Heath as the Joker. Even in the "makeup-less" scene, doesn't look a lot like Heath. Either way, I'm digging it and hope it comes with a crap load of accessories. And as has been mentioned PLEASE HT GIVE US A LAUGHING JOKER HEAD!!!!

i'm sure someone said this already but yeah it looks like he will be comming with a new coat with grenades attached to it like in the mob meetinbg scene...awsome!

New hand sculpt too. And someone said the sculpt looks to be different as well.

If they go that far, might as well reissue the original outfit again... this time with a blue jacket.

I saw the Film Worn Jacket from 2 feet away at Arclight and it really wasn't blue. Neither was the shirt. The shirt was a slate blue/gray and the jacket was also slate blue/gray. The coat had a wooly texture. When I saw it, it was weathered/worn but I agree the V1 Coat was too deep a purple. The real coat was a dull, muted purple.

I took a few pics, nothing you haven't already seen, but the pics in daylight give a fair indication of colour-

judging from the teaser pic of the possible new purple coat, is there any possibilities that the fabric HT sent to some of us is the one HT going to produce (the purple coat)?
it could be for the cop uniform, i mean it's bluey right?

I think that's what it is. One side of the fabric shows the color/material of the Cop suit and the other side shows the color/material of the new purple coat.

Also, has anyone considered that the "new" Joker head that will go with the new purple coat/grenade rig for the Mob scene might not be new at all? What if it's just a slightly modified BR Joker head. With slightly different hair/hair color and make-up that's not messy. Maybe even a different eye position.. but essentially the same sculpt. That would cut cost. Something to think about.

Always a possibility I guess but I don't think that will be the case. Hot Toys isn't known for reusing headsculpts (ex: Harvey Dent's and Two-Face's expression is different). The way they are advertising the DX line seems like they are going all out. I say new sculpt.

That's a fantastic point. Looking at the brightened picture, you could very well have hit the nail on the head. They better reveal this mystery by monday at any rate

In regards to whether HT will just mod the Bank Robber headsculpt, I don't think they will. At least, they shouldn't. If they really want to sell this cop figure I think that a new headsculpt for the mob scene has to be included. The best option is probably one with that wide eyed expression on Joker's face shortly after he reveals the grenades in his coat. I think including a new headsculpt will push the people on the fence about another Joker figure over and get them to buy it. With just a modded sculpt enough people will see the lack of effort and have no qualms passing.

So to get the best possible version of a figure you either buy everything - which is, erm, like getting screwed - or you risk 'snoozin' and loosin'' by waiting to see if a better version appears.

Is there any fun in this for anyone other than those with bottomless pockets?

I can certainly understand the 'don't buy it if you don't like it' argument. This is something else - this is 'buy it just in case you don't get anything better later'.

why? If its within the same price range as the BR joker, two new heads, a new coat with the grenade gimmick, and it seems like they've upped the quality on the coat. For the price of three figures (i know a lot) we get four ways of displaying the joker (minus the 1st head). Total thats five different head sculpts for the price of three. So if you just have V1 and skipped on BR, you can get this one and still upgrade your first joker and have a brand new honor guard figure to boot.

I don't see what the big deal is?

Well I mean, they're a company that makes products and sells them for money. They're not here to make your personal commissions. And the best possible version? They corrected their mistake with the V1 head with the BR Joker, which came with a ton of great stuff. It would have made a fine figure in itself but they put that extra head in there to upgrade your V1 joker if you wanted to.

No one has to buy this, you can go and rig together your own grenades if you want. All I see it as is a completely different figure (honour guard) with extras to improve your V1 if you so choose. If they didn't include the upgrades, would that somehow make it better? Or if they had ALL the versions in one package for the price of one, which makes no sense economically for the company?

No one should feel 'pressured' into buying anything, especially something like collectibles. It's up to you.

And bottomless pockets? That's not true but I can afford 150 bucks every few months because I work 40 hours a week and save money.



EDIT: Wait a sec, is that poster implying that it's a completely brand new joker and its not just an extra head, coat and hands thats coming with the honour guard version? If so, I retract my statements and are in general agreement with those who are disappointed or frustrated. If it's some final, ultimate joker, then I agree, I'd lose a lot of respect...but if its just extra parts that come with the honour guard, I think it's great.
