Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I always like the Planet of Evil epps. The alien jungle sets were so well done. The anti-matter beast was damn scary too!

With one more individual story to be released (Terror of the Zygons), all of the Tom Baker era will be available on DVD.
..

That's why I was very happy to get this into my collection...

It's complete with the original insert and in terms of PQ is the very best you will ever get until the DVD arrives. It was one of my most enjoyable finds in quite a while and cost me just £4.99 ($7.90). Next time Tom is at a convention here in the UK, I will get him to sign it for me :yess:

There was a partially made "Shada", and it might get a release, but it was never aired, nor was it completed.

Shada is being released, it's been long since confirmed. It'll have the same linking Tom Baker narration segments that the VHS release had back in the day. It will be in a boxed set with the (more than) 30 Years in the Tardis doco, along with a bunch of extras. They haven't given a release date yet though.

Along with Zygons and (the never completed) Shada, here's only a handful of complete Who stories left to release on DVD at this point - Pertwee's Ambassadors of Death next month, and Mind of Evil next year, the animation enhanced Reign of Terror from Hartnell's era, and some format of release for Hartnell's The Tenth Planet, and Troughton's The Ice Warriors, likely with animation covering the missing episodes.

Other than that there's just scheduled re-released special editions of Colin Baker's Vengeance on Varos in a couple of weeks, and Petwee's Claws of Axos next month, and Inferno next year. And, that is it as far as we know, apart from any more Special Edition versions they may want to do (I would imagine Ark in Space will get an SE at some point)...unless they start animating more missing episodes - which could concievably be done with Hartnell story The Crusade, and Troughton stories The Underwater Menace and The Moonbase, as those all only have a couple of missing episodes, and that seems to be the limit that they have been willing or able to replace with animation thus far.

Hard to believe that my Classic Who dvd set is almost complete, or at least as far as it can be, given the 106 lost Troughton and Hartnell episodes.

That is so cool. I never did get that one. I had LD back in the day. Only disc I still own is Star Wars.
Nice photo. I do remember seeing it in the laser centre in Edinburgh . A store that was just a lil ahead of the crowd, and never survived.

made a small change to my 11, which I think makes a big difference to the over all look of the figure, hope it comes across in the pics. Compare these two with my last post and see if you can spot it!

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Oh that looks much better. :D

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Anybody seen this before? Considering Who starts today I thought It was appropriate to post it. :)

Well I wasn't 100% with him, so as I do when im not happy I started to take him apart to see what could be done. I pulled his head and neck off and tried him on a TT body, head snaps on well. And them while I started to plan the next step, looking in parts box etc I just rested his head back on the figure, and bam! He looked great! So just pull his head off, and don't clip it back in! It rests very nicely on the peg part, and the shirt collar holds it in place. I can't believe what a huge difference it's made. The whole packed seems much improved! Even the shirt collar, which I was really not liking, seems good now!

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Excuse my ignorance. I obviously don't know squat about the show or characters but that figure above to the right (Dr. Who) Who made that? It looks fantastic!

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

OK, moving swiftly along.
A thought that I and others has, was, will BC do the obvious companion for our 4th Doctor.
No, not Romana. Leela .. Not her. And no, not Sarah Jane.

K9 :yess:

We want K9 for Tom's Doctor.

Me too.
At 4 I'm having dinner, and at 10 I'm going out for a beer...

:)
4 does look amazing, and I just know that 10 will be just as good.
I know what you mean about the neck tho. What I did just now, was to roll the collar down a tap more, just to make the neck a bit more proud.
I have my 11 staring at his watch (he's waiting patiently for Amy :impatient: )

Haha! Can't afford beer with this hobby!
I'm hoping we get 4 next, but I'll be happy with whatever. It's a bit of dream come true, always wanted a good 1/6 Who line!

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I can so relate to that.
When CO brought out their classics, I was very happy. Then in June of last year, when I read that BC were to do not just a 12" hi end Who, but a range, I was like :yess:
I feel like a big kid, but I don't care. The 11th Doctor is very cool, but a 4th Doctor will make my day.
He was scheduled as 4th,after Amy and 10, but if I were Mark at BC, reading this forum alone, I'd be pushing to get 4 out ASAP . And, please go for a signature edition.
