Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Tom looks brilliant, I hope this means he's jumped the queue release wise, the soon he's up for pre-order the better.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Me thinks same. hahaha.
Yeah, when I saw this being shown before the 10 sculpt, I'm thinking that the release order may get changed. Suits me aither way, but a 4th Doctor !!!!! :yess:

He looks wonderful so far, but I think I'd have to see the front view before saying more.

One thing I do notice is the scarf is far too washed out colour wise. But as I say when more images become available I'll have a better idea about it. :)

Looks right on to me.

Yes, but you'll notice his pupils are touching the bottom of his eye, in the sculpt they're small and set dead centre which imo doesn't look quite right.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

It looked right from the off with me.
Question is, how detailed will the jelly babies be? What expression will they use. Will they do the Bassetts family of different shapes?? All these questions and more will be answered in the next... Oh, that's another show.

DVD1, you're a very naughty boy (or girl). I did say that I thought the jelly babies were beautifully sculpted and I'd buy them tomorrow, and my micro-criticisms are only possible because the jelly babies are so close to the real thing... if the jelly babies looked like gummi bears I wouldn't even bother with constructive criticism. We're all striving for the perfect jelly baby, right?

Actually I was being almost serious. I'm a huge jelly baby fan. My dad sents me bags over, as until like, last month, I couldn't find them anywhere. So, when it comes to jelly babies, they have to be just right.. I even have a lil Bubbles jelly baby toy !!! :yess:

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Now THAT is sculpting. And it looks to have improved since the already pretty damned good 11 sculpt. The face now has skin texture and wrinkles, all of which add to the realism. And the paint work is better. No guyliner on 4.

I am with you on the irises, but this is something I have noticed with 11. The irises are slightly too small which gives him a panicked expression. I tried enlarging them on a photo in Photoshop and it helped. Unfortunately I lack the skills to modify them in real life. I think it is less noticeable on 4 as he always did have that manic look to him.

So, if 10 was sculpted after 11 but before 4, does that mean that the skin texture/wrinkles etc will be there or no? Curious now.

A quick mention that I am commissioning someone to make some polymer Tardis self destruct buttons...er...Jammie Dodgers (well, jam sandwich creams. Not the same thing, but what he actually has. I guess we can't expect a Gallifreyan to know the difference). She will take a few days to do it but I will post pictures when they arrive, if anyone is interested.

Actually, you know I may be seeing something that is not actually there. Some times I see it very clearly, then I don't! :slap

Then I looked at this...

...and realised that it would make no real difference at all at the 1/6 scale size.

Bring it on BIG CHIEF STUDIOS, there are Baker-hungry Who figure fans waiting for this. Signature Edition too if possible

I can't decide if I am more excited for this or for the delux Vader. :panic:

That picture is from my favorite episode, "The Deadly Assassin". Don't know why I'm sharing it.

Without being morbid Tom is 78, and we've lost a lot of actors from Doctor Who in recent times, so it would be nice for this to be released well he's still with us.
