Has this been posted already? :)

*eta* Ah, I see that it has. Sorry. :)

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

seems strange doing an expansion pack before they even reveal the initial release, what are the chances he comes with both brown and blue suits and the converse-like shoes to go with them?

Id also really like if they would do an expansion pack with a Smiling sculpt. After enjoying so many years of his manic energy, seeing him constantly sculpted with such a morose expression always just seems so wrong.

I'd love to see them tackle Breaking Bad. If they made that, this would be my reaction:

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I saw the whole range as exhibited by the guys at the NEC this past Sunday. I spoke with the guys at length and all I can say is that whatever variation or detail in this line you've thought of or desire, they've considered it already and if its not been implemented in reality it probably will be. They are all about pleasing the fans and know their stuff. The detail on 10's trainers alone is staggering and there's so much more to come. One notable thing was that I've yet to see a single picture that does justice to these figures. People are saying 'not Hot Toys quality' but I beg to differ here - they have a handmade quality about them that suits the Who universe to a T with tailoring and detail on par if not beyond - especially in the case of the 10 prototype which is one of THE best 1/6 figures I've ever seen and I'm not even a Tennant fan. They know all the concerns about the Baker figure (what a sculpt that is close up!!) and the costume will be altered before production. Please support this company by getting behind it and buying the figs - they deserve every success..!

Completely, completely agree - the pictures never do the finished product justice, somehow they never capture the double-take inducing lifelike quality of the sculpt and the phenomenal eyework - best painted eyes ever.

Thing is, I was one of those saying these wouldn't be Hot Toys quality, and I was wrong. They really are, and it only hits you in hand. And then you remember this is their first ever release...!

I'm usually sceptical when people talk about 'supporting' companies - they either have a product you want or they don't - but this is one golden exception to the rule, I'd really like to buy as much as I can from them because I feel like I'm in on the start of somehting very special.

Anyway, I say goodbye to 'my' 11 figure tomorrow - I'm giving it to my kid for her birthday. She used to drool over my HT's figures when I still owned some (not literally drool!) and I can't wait to see her face when she realises what she's getting.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure she is making fun of the dolls stunned expression.

Nah, I couldn't do that. But seeing it on her mantlepiece when I pass her room is tugging at my heart!

She absolutely loved it when she opened it this morning. She's old enough not to destroy it (she's never played much with dollies anyway) and also mature enough to appreciate it. I told her it's a limited edition item that was pretty much handmade and she went 'wow!'

Then I saw her two year old sister holding it and almost had a heart attack...! Which is why I suggested it went on the mantlepiece.

Last year I briefly owned a Jack Sparrow DX which she loved and i thought then that I wanted to get her a high end figure of her own - and since the Doctor is her favourite character it's a perfect match.

Oh, and I've introduced her to the word 'futz' which she currently thinks is the funniest thing ever!

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Well, she must not, not mispronounce that word.
Glad she likes it. Think 10 and 20 years into her future. This could be a seriously treasured possession . That is so cool.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

What story was the watergun from?

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

The werewolf story wasn't it? Tooth and Claw?

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Watergun is from The fires of Pompeii.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Oh that's right. I thought I remembered him using the water gun filled with the treated water on the werewolf. Guess I was wrong. :lol

Shouldn't the shipment from China have arrived in warehouses of places like TFAW and BBTS by now??? Did they send them by raft? Are they shipwrecked somewhere? I'm growing ever so impatient. :impatient:

Diamond might already have them. But they are notoriously slow and plodding in releasing things. I don't know if it's just their internal systems or what. But I think we'll be lucky if it gets out to stores in October. Looking at UT's Doctor Who toys, for instance, they usually end up releasing the figures months after retailers who get it direct from Underground Toys do.

That's awful. You think they would want to get stuff in and out of their warehouse as soon as possible.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Why would BC choose such a distributor with a reputation like that? Even BBTS has a better rep than that. :lol

So who wants to call Diamond and ask?

:lurking
