Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

:dunno

I don't see what is particularly awesome about expecting screen accuracy on a figure that will probably cost $200+, but whatever.

No offence meant, your command of detail is awesome! So awesome that I wasn't sure if you were being serious - you were, so great, your critique might help us get a better paint job.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Anyone have a recommendation on the best place to order this figure from?

And if anyone here really dislikes their signature plaque that much... GOOD GOD, SELL IT TO ME! :panic: I've been busy with a new job and off the internet quite a bit in the last year, so I heard about this figure too late to get one of the signed editions. I don't really give a damn if it's a squiggle or not. That's pretty standard with celebrities.

And doctors. :rotfl

Ok Captain, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing up what you meant.

To the other guys, I didn't think making sure his iconic shoes are the right color is an exceptional minute criticism, especially since the sculpt already shows that Big Chief is detailed oriented enough to make the sculpt with the correct covering up of the logo.

When I was building my Ten custom two or three years ago using the Hot Toys converse sculpt (previously the best available), I wanted to make sure the colors were correct for both the shoes he wore with the brown suit and the ones he wore with the blue suit. Why go to the trouble of making casts and then paint them the wrong color? Converse is customer unfriendly enough to have two different versions of their all-stars called white, with one of them being ultra white and other being canvas colored. Only one of them is correct for Ten and it is not the ultra-white version. With his blue suit, it's kind of the same thing. The shoes look red, but they are the maroon version, not the more common bright red ones.

If knowing that makes me a :FREAK:....then I'm pretty sure I'm in the right place! :banana

Everything I have read indicates the joints are tight. I haven't read one complaint about them being floppy.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Nothing wrong with the joints.

+1. No, these joints are pretty good.

You're in the perfect place! Never more so does the naturally OCD side of all of our natures come out better, than here among the other 1/6 fans/statue collectors, whose byline is "perfection or nothing - oh heck we'll buy it anyway until something better comes along!"

Hey everyone!
Long time lurker, first time commenter. Be gentle.
So I love this Smith fig, and wanted it as cheap as possible so I ordered it through Diamond at my comic book store sadly (because as any comic book employee knows, Diamond is VERY good with exact ship dates and pricing! :cuckoo:)
Has anyone gone this ordering route? I just want to know when to expect my order to arrive, and I keep reading online the US ship dates are anywhere from late this month to late next month to even December... I just want my Doctor already!

Welcome my friend, great choice. This is a great figure and I really like him too!

I feel sort of guilty really that I already have mine. But only a bit :wink1: If it's any consolation, the guys at Big Chief said to me that, so far, the largest response they had for him was from the US! Even more so than the Doctor's home crowd!!

I don't think that you will be disappointed though.

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Haha. I'm not guilty. I'm glad I have it now.
Anyone waiting will so enjoy this when it arrives for them.
With all the lil bits and pieces, I'm constantly changing the look. The head sculpt is one that seems to take on different expressions depending upon position.
Said it before, but I'm very impressed with this.

I'm pretty sad BCS went with Diamond. They aren't the most reliable or fastest distributors ever. :(

But, they will get it distributed widely, which I guess is a good thing.

I just hope it shows up before too long! :)

I'm still thrilled about owning this guy!

I know it's a beautiful figure, but try not to lick the screen!

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

Beautiful stuff.

I want a little sticker for the psychic paper that has the Archbishop of Canterbury's coat of arms on it and says 'you're my special favourite'!

Re: New Doctor Who 1:6 and 1:4 from Big Chief Studios!

I will be ordering this bad boy on Friday (payday!!!) so when I get it I will stick some stuff on YouTube if it's still thin on the ground, the only video is some guy talking for over 10 minutes and not once taking it out of the box!
