Yep, that's part of what I like about it - there is an implied relationship between the Doctor and Rose.

And there was some humor in the first series with the implied triangle between the Doctor, Rose and the ambisexual Captain Jack.

we loved that part of the story here. The fact that there was flirting going in all directions, openly. It was very funny, and also a refreshing change from the 'man likes girl' conventions

Ah... why commas are important. :lol :rotfl

AHA! SO...my little mistake in typing has produced a PLETHORA of interesting dialogues that might have gone unwritten for at least another two pages...
Glad I did that.... :lol

Anyway, yeah, Eighth Doc had him some fun I think....and you cannot tell me that Number Nine didn't get Rose to open a petal or two... :D

ANYWAY....

Hope they make more figures! :chew

Well, I just got done watching season 1 (of the newer version) and I absolutely LOVED it!!!! Now I'm hooked and can't wait around for the second season to become available on Netflix...so I purchased the complete second season and should be able to start watching it by the end of the week. I'm so glad I found this thread....you all have turned me on to a great show!

I know some of you guys were inquiring as to why no 1/6 scale Dalek, but there actually is one already.

Character Options released a remote control Dalek in 1/6 scale, there are a couple of variants as well an attack Dalek which comes with a claw on the end of it's arm and a Dalek Sec (who is more commonly known as the black Dalek that appeared in Army Of Ghosts and Doomsday and will be back this season).

Apparently Character Options count them as 1/6 Daleks, although the packaging is different and there's nothing official to say they're part of the same line.

I love the Dr Who 1/6 scale figures, like Darklord Dave said, the bodies are a bit rubbish but given the price and who the line is aimed at I think they did ok with it.

Can't wait to see who gets the 1/6 treatment next, I hadn't heard Martha and Captain Jack were even getting made.

I thought that CO released 12" Daleks - meaning they are a full 12 inches tall or really more 1/4 scale?

Yeah, they're not true 1/6 scale. They're about 1/5.5 scale.

They do look too big when posed with the 1/6 figures.

And I'll third that; CO's (and Product Enterprise's) 12" Daleks are just that - 12" tall and look far too large alongside 1/6th stuff. The lack of proper 1/6th Daleks is so bizarre and inexplicable that even ol' Fox Mulder himself wouldn't be able to believe it.

Meanwhile, Martha & Novice Hame (the cat nun) are virtually all but confirmed in 12" scale... along with a blue-suited Doctor and a bad guy new alien soldier.

The head from the Doctor figure fits virtually perfectly on to a DML body (though removing it takes a bit of patience) .

Anyone has suggestions for getting the plug out of the Doc's neck, I'm all ears. I've tried an exacto, heat, and leverage, but I can't seem to get it out.

Heat, exacto, leverage AND patience. The head is actually glued to the peg on the body. It took me hrs to get the head off.. then I went and screwed it up and so now I can't do anything with it. I'll eventually get a new one. My only issue is finding a body that the outfit fits on. Suggestions?

My Doctor hasn't arrived, so I haven't tried this on a Character Options figure myself yet, but I've used CA glue solvent to loosen heads (and vinyl hair) before. Only one caveat: better be prepared to repaint, because that which dissolves glue dissolves paint.

Yep - heat (try a dunking or three in boiling water), craft knife, leverage, a large dollops of patience and a fair bit of 'cussing. Still suprised I didn't shed blood working on mine. Be careful not to rip the whole head/neck plug assembly off the body as the torso give you something to hang onto during the removal process.

Shades of Hasbro's customiser-unfriendly 9" DC Heroes figures from all those years back ;)

Replacement body? The perfect one is Dragon's slim body as used on figures like DML's Michael figure over here;

A little follow-up on that; made a similar comment over at Outpost Gallifrey (damn, I am a boring ol' scratched record when it comes to 1/6th Daleks!) and was pointed to 10th Planet's website where they have a 12" Dalek Action Figure predicted for 2007 at standard 1/6th Who figure price (c.£16.99).

Promising... though I fear the overscaled 12" version with all the electrical gubbins removed but I'll keep my fingers crossed.
