New Doctor Who figures!

Ugh I really want these figures but the paint is hard to get past really. Also the limited articulation isnt all that fun. AND we are still missing one Rose Tyler. Martha looks good though, but doesnt she always?

Has anyone tried transferring these heads and costumes onto better bodies and re-painting them?

I think they may be worth getting them If they can be adapted somehow. I'm tempted to get a couple, including that Space suited Tennant.

Make the most of it, as rumor is both Tennant and Russell T Davies are leaving after season 4 and we'll be getting a new Doctor 'at the helm'.

Trouble is their are glued on... but with some heating and hacking away with a craft-knife I got the Tennant head off (without any blood being spilt either!) - swapped him over onto the slim Dragon body which suits him perfectly.

The only problem with the bodies CO use are the simple, ugly elbow joints which can hardly reach a 90 degree bend. Otherwise (and perhaps I fluked out here with my Doctor, Ood & Clockwork man in not getting any with weak knees) the body is virtually identical to the basic Dragon body.

HOLY CRAP! Those are amazing! Look at that coat for Tennant!
And, maybe I am a bit slow...I accept that possibility...but what is the 11th Doctor????? Figure looks AWESOME! Just not sure what that means!
Made me want an 8th Doc figure.

*g* The '11th Doctor' is in fact just the likeness of a chat show host called Johnathon Ross.

The company made a likeness of him in both scales as a 'gag' for one of his shows when he had Tennant as a guest, plus that long overcoat for the Tennant doll.

It's a great shame that they didn't produce a version looking like that for sale. I would have bought one in a heartbeat!

And yes, the finish on the 12" cyberman is just superb.

Those are great - too bad they couldn't deliver paintjobs like those on the production figures.

That company is also doing the smaller scale Harry Potter figures. They seem like they've really got it together.

I saw the Ood at a local shop the other day and I have to say he was pretty cool looking. I started to watch the new series and liked it but it ended up getting lost in the shuffle of other shows.

If I knew who the characters were I'd definitely be getting some... sure the paints bland, but for $25 you can't really complain to much.

I think those are the actual 12 inch Daleks that have been released. Not the 12 inch scale ones that there's no excuse for them not making.

Yeah! I think they have quite a few remote control 12" tall Daleks, but they need to be a smidgen smaller to be in 1/6 scale. Not that I care too much.
But it would be nice if they were more accurate scale. And opened!
I'll take the lights and voices and all though.

My appologies on the necroposting. Can anyone post a good, detail pic of the tennant headsculpt? I want to make a 9th doctor, but i want to get a good llook at the head before I do this.

That looks like the sculpt on the 12". I don't know where mine is, I kinda gave up on it since removing it from the original body was such a chore. But the sculpt is excellent, but desperately needs a repaint.

For the price i got the cybermen for i think there great, got them all last year in the January sales. This is the only pose you can do, forgot what there called each one is called leader, commander? But left is argos exclusive, middle is toy r us exclusive and the right is the normal cyberman.

Underground Toys (the main US distributor for the Dr Who figures) was supposed to get these in towards the end of December. I'll see if I can find out any new information.
Has anyone done any custom figures for the new series?
I'm working on a Rose and a Capt. Jack. Hope to post some pics soon.
