question to my fellow freaks with new doom pieces coming out do you think the original grail doom PF would go down in value oh stay the same cause it Doesn't matter. Debating if i should wait and see what happens with the new doom pieces oh if i get a chance at the grail piece doom PF if i should go for it ?

It depends on the sculpt. One is a sitting & the other would be a standing pose. However, given the quality & weight of the original Doom, I don't see it going down. It's like the Hulk or Cap PF, I don't think it will ever go down because of the value and the quality of the sculpt it too.

Value will not be affected, no matter how many releases Sideshow makes.
The 1st Doom is a classic & was made when Sideshow was in its golden era, the character may replicated but the quality of the 1st won't. How many Doom PFs do you see on the secondary market right now? None on ebay right now & if there was, only a handful & the going rate is around 2k & slowly getting higher.

Yea, I don't see it going down either. This is also the nice thing about statues...when they remake a character, it's brand new and not a re release. If the original piece is a fantastic piece to begin with, it should retain it's value no matter what. I look forward to the new Doom PF!!!

You can probably buy 5-6 Dr. dooms PFs when it comes out comparing to only buying 1 of the original Doom PF.

unless the new pf has a very similar sitting pose as the original, otherwise the value wont go down. And i still have at least this much confidence that sideshow wont screw over their collectors with a such similar rerelease as hot toys is so fond of doing.

so short answer, no i dont think the value will drop.

good point VS is the same thoughts that im having given the sculpt quality and weight wont ever be matched oh come close to it.
SS confirmed standing pose and a maquette with chalice but we all know
how things change with them. I guess is wishful thinking on my part that they my revisit the same pose but maquette format instead of PF .
since venom 1:1 bust was done again but not close the original imo

Im also thinking it could go in the opposite direction that the doom pieces that do come out are so garbage compare to the original doom PF that it might make it jump even higher in price which im a little worried if it does since still debating if i should go for it

good point mr green i know what i pay for a grail doom pf right now can buy me 5 oh 6 dooms in the future oh any other pieces but is all about quality not quantity you know what u getting with that doom grail piece

I guess will see what SS comes up with are there glory days behind them like people say where the sculpt weight and quality was there best as most collectors say on here i noticed. Hopefully SS takes that attitude that they want to keep putting better products out in every aspect and keep topping each piece making more future grails

yeah i noticed with some venom pics from some members on here the eddie brock movie version really purple not bad but like i said i love the original comic version much more imo

What you have to worry about is that most of the pieces have found their final homes. The Master Replicas Millenium Falcon used to be available at a somewhat reasonable price for a long while. At one point there were none left to be found and the price started climbing quickly. even though there were a lot of them produced, they have all settled into their homes and hardly any are for sale anymore. How many collectors are looking for Doom to complete their collection, and how many are for sale?
