Attempting to get involved in the conversation, I have found many members here to be condescending in their thread replies. Why is that?

The only thing I can think of is the average age must be around 16 by the maturity level displayed so far.

Do you mean condescending in their replies to you in particular, or more generally? Presumably when you begin "attempting to get involved" you mean your attempts, and not those of others.

In which case to answer properly would mean going back through your posts and assessing whether a) the replies directed to you or about you were, in fact, condescending and b) to what extent might those responses be attributed to the typical demeanour and MO of the authors, or whether this condescension was specific to their replies to you.

Can anyone prove you wrong how? That those you perceive as condescending do not, in fact, possess the maturity of a 16 year old? That your perception of the respondents as condescending is wrong? Or that your perception of the board in general, that many of its members are given to condescension, is wrong?

Could you provide a specific example of what you mean?

Speaking for myself, I was posting in a thread and two old timers started on about my low number of posts. I just laughed at that because waving an epeen boner, based on a high number of posts here, isn't something that means squat to me.

I'm sure there's tons of people here who barely post, but that doesn't make their views are irrelevant or they have nothing to add.
