ok, I understand the passion for the Kurgan stuff, but this is a thread for a new LICENSE, they have Highlander stuff already so the announcement for a new license won't have a chance of being about a Kurgan because it wouldn't need a new license.

Me? I want my Underworld license so we can get a Selene PF!!!

However, the Christmas annoucement has me thinking. The first Die Hard was set at a Christmas party, right? Just an idea. There's also Gremlins, and lots of other films too, but I'm trying to think Sideshow audience-wise. With Christmas as the backdrop maybe it's a Narnia series?

You guys know a 12" Medival Kurgan will NEVER be made. If they make a 1:6 Medival Kurgan he will at least be 13" like his modern version. I'm disapointed you Krusaders have overlooked this very important issue.

:lol

Hopefully Pirates figures. It seems everyone at Sideshow would love to do it. They just need NECA's licensing guys.

They are selling the JUN Planning Corpse Bride figures. Maybe they worked something out to offer JUN Nightmare Before Christmas items as well. That would be a cool license.

When they say they are going to have a new license, I expect THEM to be the ones making it and not distrubuting it. Spootackular's "licenses" were horrible. NBX would be approprite though. I just hope there isn't an order on the that day, just the announcement or a pic like with last year's LotR 12" figures (hard to believe only 1 figure and 3 pre-orders in 1 year from that line huh?).

Look at how many of the new license announcements from 2006 were imports or other pieces not actually produced by Sideshow. Quite a lot. It gives them a chance to keep releasing a wide variety of items (many of them otherwise difficult to obtain outside of eBay) while focusing their production efforts on other things. For example--I wouldn't want them to set aside the upcoming LOTR PF to work on a Herman Munster statue, but by distributing Electric Tiki's work, they can give fans access to a unique item, give smaller companies a mainstream distrubution method, and keep the new announcements and previews coming in the newsletter.

I know that Sideshow has moved to the top of the collectible company food chain and part of that involves building relationships with smaller (or overseas) companies for distribution purposes. This is a nice compromise that gives fans a wide variety of licenses while allowing Sideshow's production team to focus on the mainstream releases. (While still mixing things up with a Pumpkinhead or Tremors item every now and then.)

I think the lack of new product announcements is mostly due to fulfilling the pre-orders they do have and the delays and quality issues that were unexpected for them this year. I think the new year will bring more exciting new products. That said.... HURRY THE HELL UP WITH NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENTS SIDESHOW!!!!!!!!!!

Considering the huge let down on The Fifth Element announcement, I'm not hoping for much; but, more than anything, I'd like to see these in PF form:"Matrix Photos"

I'd LOVE some 1/6th scale from those movies!

Wow, if Sideshow got a DC license I would have to give up the pretense of trying not to buy comic statues anymore. Man a PF Bats or Wonder Woman would make me increase my statue intake and cut out the food intake..:monkey1

I'm not even gonna bother making any guesses this time, because I start getting a bunch of cool ideas and get my hopes up, and it ends up being something oddball like bobbleheads or a Reign of Fire bust.

Expect the worst, hope for the best.

I agree. It's gonna be "Eragorn" or "Aragorn" or whatever that CGI crapfest is...

Actually, the last time Sideshow announced a new license, it was for 1/6 and Premium Format of their existing LOTR license. So a PF Kurgan would be a (remote) possibility.

Me, I want Indy, 1/6 Star Trek or The Matrix!

I think it has to be a fairly big license, like last year. Lots of stuff I'd like, like Underworld, Reservoir Dogs, Fifth Element etc aren't that big, relatively.

I'm guessing Transformers. Maquettes, dioramas, etc. Movie and animated. DST and First Four Figures have done statues and stuff in the past(I think mostly based on the comics), but not at the bigger sizes and higher price points. 2007 is the movie year and I'm sure Hasbro's and the studio's merchandising arms are getting lots of licensees signed up. Plus Sideshow has a good relationship with Hasbro, it seems.

It could be interesting. Transformers fans are willing to spend a lot of $$$ on Transformers stuff... a $300 item would not be a big stretch at all for quite a few.

I'd be tempted by a G1 animated style Optimus Prime maquette in 1:18 scale, myself.

Underworld licence < Indy licence < Matrix licence < Pirates licence < Medieval F'N KURGAN !!!!

what ever it is I hope it bobble heads!!! I can't afford anything else right now since the whitequeen came out! :D Plus Jaba is getting closer!

I can't believe only one mentioned Firefly/Serenity! It's definitely going to be one of those! :D :D

And I love the idea of World of Froud II, that or better Labyrinth and the resurrection of the Dark Crystal short-lived line.

That Reign of Fire bust is one of my favorite sideshow collectibles. I'm hoping for one of these next:

C'mon sideshow, more RoF!

Now kids, you know Santa can't always bring you what you want. He has to bring presents to all the good little boys and girls all over the world, so sometimes you get your hopes up and anticipate getting that special present on Christmas Day, only to be disappointed Santa did not bring it to you. So instead of getting yourselves all worked up over something he made not be able to bring, just sit back and relax and be surprised by what he does bring you and you won't be so disappointed if it turns out not to be what you hoped for. :santa :deer
