Statue New LOTR Maquette Line Announced!

It's been a full month since this line was announced. Has anybody heard even a hint of a rumour as to when the first of these pieces could be previewed/put up for order? I haven't.

SS has announced a number of must-haves for me (Darth Talon, Sparrow PF, Carnage CQ, Jason Voorhees among others) and I'm beginning to get a little concerned that, by the time something is announced, I'll be right up to the edge of my budget!

I was hoping we would see the first of these figures announced, and maybe even pre-ordered by now! I would love to get to see one finished prototype and a price point before I decide if I am going to stick to the PF's only, or branch out with this line too.

I do hope we hear something soon before Comic-con. I also hope Sideshow has been listening to our wants of some characters who haven't been done in any previous Sideshow lines.

I suspect that the first preview/pre-order will be around July, either before or during SDCC. My best guess is that it will be Aragorn.

With SDCC now being a month long event for SS, it is possible that one will show up around the start of July and then another surprise one during the 4 day SDCC event.

Either way, nothing is going to ship till end of the year, at the earliest.

Aragorn is undoubtedly first (as seen sculpted in the video), Comic Con seems likely.

It does seem like Comic Con would be the ideal place for the debut of the new line, especially as how quickly we are approaching SDCC. Aragorn looked very close to complete, but the preview of Gimli didn't look too far behind.

If SDCC is the spot for the debut of this line, maybe we'll see a PF before then!

I would love a Boromir diorama where he is fighting a couple of Uruk Hai's ( the scene where he kills 2-3 in one sword swing ) trying to defend Merry and Pippin ( which would be standing behind him ) I think it would be amazing.

I REALLY hope that we get a Twilight Witchking in PF form (similar to the look of the SSW statue) but if not, may we at least get a maquette of it! My first choice is the PF but this option will allow several characters who will never see the light of day as a PF to be made.

So, what your saying is that if they don't make a PF, then you want a 'repeat' of the SSW statue, because that one now cost's too much?

There are some pieces that should never be repeated, secondary values or not.



It is impossible to top:

The RWOS, WKTF, Stone Trolls, Watcher, Cave Troll, Daddy Rog, Uruk Hai Scout, and Orthanc - and yes coincidentally they are mostly grails.
