The only explanation is that they have a collector-base in Asia that keeps buying their figures. The vast majority of what they release in the states eventually goes on clearance, and they have fantastic licenses that folks want collectibles for. They are cheap and over-priced, unless you think they are worth the cost. Which, presumably, someone somewhere does.

I will say that I hear that their bodies are getting better as far as durability is concerned. I have the body from the Mad Hatter and its pretty tough, but its my only experience with Medicom. The reason I have a spare body is because I replaced it with a HT TrueType, which just supports the fact that their bodies are small and out of scale. The funny thing is most of the clothes actually fit better on the TT. Still way over priced and not even close to HT on execution.

so for 450, whos buying this bad boy duo?!

Personally Id rather just buy a Light cycle and still save money. And I dont really want the light cycle + Flynn because FLynn no move.

Heh, someone on the Daft Club made that, nice to see it making its way around.

He made another one just for Discovery-era that was more in-depth to that time period:

Just speaking out loud I hope hot toys do them would be a dream come true for me.

:goodpost: i would buy them soo fast
i want daft punk figures but really dont have the cash to pay that much for 2 figures
hopefully they will go down in price and i can snag em on ebay!

Yeah, I eventually ended up in the "I can wait" category. I just kept hoping I'd see some pics that justified the price for those figures, but it just isn't happening.

Hopefully I can get them for less, but if not, oh well.

I might pick up the Kubricks or Bearbricks. I don't really like Bearbricks in general, but they're definitely the cheapest of the three options.

The Kubricks are going to be it for me. I really like the RAH but there's no way I can justify that price. I really wish SpinMasters would make a two-pack in the 3.75" scale.

Nope.

And every company sends recommendations on thier movies, actors, sountracks, directors for oscar consideration :lol

It should get at least a nod, it's a fantastic soundtrack, far better than I expected from them and I'm a fan. I wonder if sellers will try to up the price on these already overpriced figures based on Oscar buzz....

Man I guess Medicom never learns. They have the best licenses, but release the worst quality products and for the highest price on average. As much as I love their Jojo's Bizarre Adventure figures, I won't even buy those from them unless a site has them for a huge discount.

It's especially true for these two figures. The only unique qualities they needed to do was make them glow and instead we got anorexic guys in white jumpsuits for 200 each. Nice one Medicom.
