I saw this today. (my score: 7/10. It's not bad, but I wished it delved into deeper ideas)

1) Well, Surrogate technology has only existed in its current form for a few years. It'd really depend on the measure of use to determine how common muscle atrophy would be. People would still need to unplug from their Surrogates in order to get food and so on and to perform hygiene functions, but the film does imply that apart from those livelihood-based activities, most people spend most of their time in their control chair. The human body is resilient, even minimal movement in a sedentary lifestyle should prevent muscle atrophy. Bruce Willis' character is oddly very fit though, compared to a lot of others in the fim.

2) Because......He likes it that way? I don't really like Bruce Willis with any hair style except bald.

no ^^^^, i haven't seen any previews for this and didn't know he had hair in this movie. i think the reason i like his movies so much is because he's bald in most of them. kinda gives a won't take any of yo ^^^^ attitude. imo.

Also there is a difference between cartoon ass and real ass.

Hmmmm....interesting.....new parameters.....:D

I know most of you will never see the real thing and Mike's sigs are as close as you'll get, but there's the whole worldwide web for that. If you can't find naked women on the internet,
you're just not looking.

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl this really made me laugh hard.

As for Bruce Willis, the movie looks interesting but something about Willis' surrogate doesn't look right. His portrayal in previews doesn't really vibe with me. I'll wait until DVD.

I thought I saw in the credits that his surrogate was played by someone else. Which makes sense because he's thinner than Bruce is now. If that's true then they did an excellent job mapping Bruce's face onto the body double.

Another thing about surrogacy that doesn't make sense - it's implied in the movie that they're just then rolling out surrogates for kids. So adults are sending their kids out into the real world with their robots? The whole idea behind surrogacy is safety, yet kids are still in danger?

Saw it Friday. I would give it maybe a 6/10.

Not a terrible movie, but certainly nothing I will watch again.

Yeah i saw this on Friday as well. It was good but there were many plotholes. Most of which are spoilers.

:mwaha :lol

As for Surrogates, haven't seen it yet and probably won't until it hits DVD, just haven't been hitting the theater all that much lately.

I'll be watching this (and Whip It) this weekend. I don't expect a lot from a Bruce Willis movie - people need to die, things need to explode, and he needs at least one good quip.

This movie sucked, horrible effects

Plus--how come the only new technology is the surrogate bodies? And why do they have to sit at a computer? How hard would it be to just have a wireless link and do things on command?

How retarded

So...I guess you would not recommend adding this movie to my Netflix queue.

I think the idea of connecting and controlling wirelessly to a surrogate is preposterous given the apparent time period in the film, which looks not too far off from our own. Consider that we currently, in reality, can't even provide stable wireless 3G connections in the similar span of time that Surrogates are rolled out in the film! And they're still driving fossil fuel cars!
