I just watched the 3 minutes where the Pred comes out of the water and Dutch is covered in mud (was double-checking the canon pivot).

The movie design is a work of ARTISTIC PERFECTION - gives me chills to watch Kevin Peter-Hall do his magic.

This - not so much :(

Yea Predator is one of my all time favorite films. Just so much perfection.

Sideshow bring back 80s nostalgia with their new Rocky Dennis statue.
A good yet sad movie and story.

Burtial: If the loose portrait is the only thing you're not happy with, you seemed satisfied until you noticed that, it's a simple fix that should cost less than a $ and take 2 seconds to complete.

Order the thinnest Neodymium Magnet you can find and place it between the contact points.

Thanks, and if I keep it that is what I will do. And you're right...I was happy with it from an overall standpoint till I discovered that issue. That kinda pushed me back over the other side of the fence. In looking into it further, the dreads are not allowing it to fully seat into the body's base and allow the magnets to make proper contact. There is a 2-3mm gap in the bottom. The dreads are fixed into place (they are numbered on the inside too like the Wolf), and I think if they were slightly off in position when attached at the factory, you will have this issue. It normally might not be a big deal, but his neck joint is at about a 30 degree forward angle, which with the high CoG of the head allows it to roll right off the body. It will sit okay on its own, but it only takes a tap to the back of the head or a bump to the statue to have it fall out (which I tried my best to show in the video). I am going to give it a few days to see how it grows on me before making a return decision, but it's just not something people should have to worry about on a statue of this price range. If I had not caught it, the head would have fallen on the floor. The MAIN thing I want to do here is give buyers a heads-up ( :lol ) that this can happen, and to be mindful of that when handling their statues. :lecture

I also forgot to mention that mine had been previously opened and taped back up. I assume there was a QC done at SS to inspect these guys, but someone should have noticed that at least on mine, the head falls off.

I'm guessing you'll keep it Jason.

You know me, Spike. I probably will, as I was good with it up to it becoming decapitated. But if I do, I will send this one back and get one that does not have that issue.

And hopefully with a better paintjob on the EX skull too.

Do BOTH the heads have the "highlander" issue?

.

Also, that guy who put it in his Detolf is CRAZY. This thing is a full Poly BEAST. There is NO WAY I would put him on a glass Detolf shelf. I put heavier items in my Detolf, but I make my own plexiglass shelves for those items.

Yes. That's why I feel like I'm not going to be the only one who needs to be aware of the issue.

Heck - I feel REALLY bad for anyone that hasn't been warned - but you've done your bit to get the message out.

Are you on Statue Forum? - if not, I'll post a warning on there.

Yeah - not the smartest move :)

You guys do know that the statue really was pretty light, right? They all are. They just inject heavier filler inside of these things to give them heft. Otherwise, collectors wouldn’t feel like they’re getting value. So silly.

I would definitely contact SSC and ask for a replacement head... You are 100% justified in receiving a replacement.

Some Pics from Facebook.. In all honesty the quality does not look all that different... In fact there are some things about the paint apps that I like on the New versions unmasked head over the SWS version... SWS versions Helmet head kicks the snot out of the new one... Body mass seems about the same on both but larger head on new one takes some of that away..

All this talk about New Predator being so skinny... Those are some skinny arms and legs on the original :)

Original is more screen accurate.. I prefer the new pose though... Never liked the original pose for whatever reason..
