I liked this initially, but I'm just going to wait. Seeing the coolprops stuff makes me just want to hold off. I think I would enjoy this piece, but it's not the perfect version, not at the money they are asking.

I had you down as a "no" from the start? (Oct 2016) . . .

Mmmm, went off this now. It's not quite right. The unmasked head is horrific, too elongated or something.

It's nice. Serviceable, but for $1200...pass.

The hunt continues.

.

Despite all negativities, I still might get this if it looks good in person and got discounted, to pair him with SS Dutch of course. P1 or CP may make theirs a 1/3 so this might be the only choice for 1/4 scale... with reasonable price of course.
Other than that, none companies will reveal theirs soon I think, as SS is still not releasing theirs...

As good as they will be I don't like 1/3 and it will be expensive to (yes I know you get what you pay for)

1/3 scale for Predator statues is rare. Sideshow only made 1 the Wolf Predator! Cinemaquette also just 1. I actually can't think of any others out there in 1/3 scale. Predators should be 1/3 in my eyes you get to see more details when done correctly. Yeah the price is off putting. But considering what people are paying for these days it's not a big deal if done perfectly. It's just not happening enough with Predator statues

This sideshow one is really expensive to. I think prices all over are a joke really. Will be a collectible bubble burst like the housing market at some point :lol

I reckon so. It's why I passed on this piece completely. The price and the faults that come with it was an easy pass for me.

yeah i dont get why anyone would buy this given the glaring inaccuracies and price. It's not like this is a normal $400-500 statue, it's $1300 for crying out loud. For this amount of money, why would you compromise? especially on a character/license that accuracy is absolutely key

You totally summed it up! I saw the pics and got deflated instead of excited. I would be an ***** to ignore those glaring faults and throw away money that could go to better use! Sideshow never listen to their core collectors to make changes. So simply pass lol.

So I guess those who ordered it are idiots? No offence to anyone in this thread, but it's getting tiresome coming in here and seeing the same people make the same negative comments over and over and over again...

We get it guys, you don't like it, you think it's not worth it, you want an exact replica of the Predator in 1/4 scale for this money, blah blah blah. Does it really need to be constantly repeated over and over? End of the day, most people who walk into your room and see it will instantly recognize it's the Predator from the 1987 classic.

Guess what? There's plenty of people that like it enough to have ordered it. It's a little disrespectful to make these people feel stupid for ordering it.

If I look at most of what Sideshow produce, I can find inaccuracies FFS. Can't tell me their likenesses for any of their human characters have been 100% spot on. Hell, Cinemaquette release statues with poor likenesses for thousands of dollars, and even their creatures have some inaccuracies. Steve Wang's Predator is an artistic interpretation of the character that sells for over 4 thousand these days, yet nobody doesn't mind the inaccuracies on it.

End of the day, it is what it is. This forum makes up a tiny percentage of Sideshow's overall customers, so the opinions of members on here mean diddly squat. To constantly complain and crap on a product is pointless, when you know Sideshow won't change it.

Right on brother. Same stuff happened with the p2 winge, winge, winge, wine, wine, wine [emoji22] [emoji22] [emoji22] . It's like your in a child care centre. Simple solution don't buy it and go make your own and see how that turns out. Or go buy a plastic $50 neca doll

I love it and although not perfect what is these days. It's going to be a great companion piece with my 1/4 scale Dutch. [emoji3] [emoji3] [emoji3]

I'd rather hear justified criticism then this noxious BS. People are frustrated and it can get testy. If you can't take the truth you could have waited for a better one or tracked down a SWS Maquette(or the NECA isn't actually that bad, it sure is a hell of a lot more accurate than this mess). Yea, nothing is perfect, even the SWS, but that is a poor argument to justify getting something this far off.

Buy it if you like it, just accept the truth and stop trying to make yourself feel better by complaining about people discussing its glaring flaws. Let the facts be known so the next guy can make an informed decision. The worse this sells the more likely they do a better job next time or stop camping on the license altogether.

I appreciate that this was a rhetorical question, but looking at the Cooplprops Big chap, and the Prime 1 Dog Alien. I suspect that their Predators will be leagues ahead of any statues we've seen from the license in recent years.. Those Aliens aren't just good, they are spectacular! It seems fair to assume their Predators will be also. Yes they will be a bit bigger, and probably more expensive, but this is hardly cheap so the difference in price might be achievable for us. Not trying to talk you out of this in any way, it has it's own plus points. But if you genuinely crave a little more attention to detail like the rest of us, waiting to see what those two companies can offer might be a sensible option. I doubt this SSC version will sell out any time soon so it should still be an option you can choose if the others don't suit you.

I actually like the P2 maquette also for all of the complaining I did about certain aspects. but ultimately it's just an decent statue, like this P1. I look at the CP Big chap, and the Dog, and see a piece of wonderful cinematic history made physical. Here's to hoping they can achieve the same with the Predators! And that we can afford them!

Good post! And just to be clear people are entitled to speak how they feel about a piece. I have no hate for people loving this. How I felt about it in a negative way was way before I even came on the forums to find out what others felt. It is what it is. And if this does turn out better once in hand then that's great also.

Well put mate, and very respectful. I've been aware of the shortcomings of this piece from day 1, but I still think it's a bad a$$ looking piece. I had the chance to purchase the original Maquette, and whilst I'm aware it's more accurate than this, I never cared for the pose, and I felt this new Maquette would make a better companion piece for the Dutch PF, which is why I wanted it. I'm still interested in whatever Prime 1 release as far as Predators go, and if they make a more accurate 1:3 Jungle Hunter, I'll happily get that too if the price is right.

I know this is a public forum and people are certainly entitled to say how they feel about a piece, I just think it gets to a point where it comes across as rude and disrespectful to those who may like the piece and want to order it, or have ordered it, and make them second guess their purchase.

I guess it's a case of, it's not what you say but how you say it. There's constructive criticism and discussing the shortcomings of a piece, and then there's constantly coming into the same thread to make the same negative comments over and over, and basically crapping all over the piece. There's only so many times you can say a piece is crap and poorly done before it starts to sound like a broken record. Personally, if I dislike a piece, I make my feelings known and move on.

My original comments weren't directed at you or anyone in particular, was more just a general comment towards the negativity that I constantly see in this thread. It just gets annoying to see this thread bumped, open it only to find the same again comments being made again and again.
