Well...I wouldnt go THAT far. I love all the Bonds...not all the movies, but every Bond has atleast one flick thats good.

You wouldn't but I would. Craig encapulates what I wanted Bond to be. Since Connery, Bond did not have the ruggedness that was on screen. The other Bonds were fine but weren't the same and in my eyes not Bond. Craig was perfect and so as far as I'm concerned, there hasn't been a Bond before Casino Royale. Can't wait to continue the tale.

Dalton was as dangerous, if perhaps not as rugged, as Connery. He was a purposefully violent Bond with genuine depth and motivations. I like Connery a lot, but he got by mostly on his natural charisma and screen presence than he did with his acting skills. There's little depth to Connery's Bond, but he's terrifically entertaining to watch. Connery and Moore are opposite sides of the same coin. They both played it big - Connery was a more violent character and Moore has a more light-hearted character. Dalton and Craig are the most Fleming of the Bond's - dangerous, violent, serious, and vulnerable at the same time. Brosnan is somewhere in between.

Saw Casino Royale and loved it! I actually watched it twice in the same day. I watched it and was amazed and went and told my sister and she wanted to see it now and so I watched it again with her and she loved it. I'm going to have to see Quantam of Solace now. Especially with how Royale ended. Craig played a damn good part.

Why the hell do the Americans have to wait two weeks after the Brits for this? I want my Bond, NOW!

So, I watched the following things on YouTube...the new Gun Barrel, and the main titles.

Gun Barrel is...intresting. Its kinda lame how they did it...you'll see when it comes out, and I dont like the music they put to it, but Craig does a good pose, and the barrel itself looks good.

The titles...it goes from cool, to boring, to cool, and then to OK....and the awful song doesnt help. Its edited to hell, and it doesnt make it better. So, no, Woff...I wont like the song in the movie, because its the same horrid song, David didnt redo it like he did with You Know My Name.

Check it out on YouTube.

Now now....the movie could very well suck worse then any Moore movie...so I wont say anything until Sunday.

Have a friend who has seen it in avant premiere and he didn' t like it at all.
Guess I am going to see it on DVD...maybe.

Daniel Craig will never be James Bond in my eyes.

Uh oh...you've angered him. Now he's coming for you...

You almost made me hesitate going to see it until I read that last statement.

Getting ready to go see it in a few hours. :rock

Who else is catching a Midnight showing?

Just got back.
I really ^^^^ing hate the editing in the action scenes. Like Batman Begins and TDK, it's the close-up, fast-cut, shaky-cam, "who-was-that?" bull^^^^ where you can't tell what exactly is going on.

It ruined pretty much every action scene.

Especially the Opera scene when they chase Bond through the restaurant. The part where he fights the one guy before he meets Cami was good, though.

It sucks becuase they do this great choreography, but you only see some hints at it.

Also, the editing in general was bad where it skips a lot. It didn't feel fluid.

I think Casino Royale was great in these areas. I had no problem with the action and you could tell exactly what was going on.

I really hope they don't do this crap in the next one.

I need to see it again, but on the whole the movie felt like a step back.

Caught the midnight show last night and I thought it was terrific. I would say I liked it as much as Casino Royale. It's such a fluid follow-through that it's hard to dislike any aspect. It was very modern, yet incredibly classic and often retro. I felt the film balanced story, character, action, and intrigue incredibly well. The action was a little too close for my taste, I preferred the more traditional approach of Campbell's work on Casino Royale, but nevertheless, I never found it hard to follow the action and various chases. I just dug the whole thing from beginning to end. And oh, that ending. That's a beautiful thing and very indicative of the film - epic action sequences and complex storylines and intrigue and yet the film never loses focus of the characters and their motivations.

I've seen some reviews blasting the film, even a 1/10 from some Bond fansite. That's absurd. This movie has everything that a good Bond movie should, and then some. People have let their expectations get out of hand, expecting something different, while being handed something unique and different and very Fleming in relation to the Bond character himself. It's a great Bond film.

I watched a clip or two, and yes, I agree Sachel, the editing is awful. I watched the car chase....theres NO reason for a car chase to be like that!

But we'll see....

No Watchmen trailer at my DLP screening.

Unfortunately, they showed a new trailer for the awful The Spirit movie in which Miller does everything except defile Will Eisner's grave. Atrocious doesn't begin to describe how terrible that movie looks.
