I watched a clip or two, and yes, I agree Sachel, the editing is awful. I watched the car chase....theres NO reason for a car chase to be like that!
But we'll see....
If the action was filmed like Casino Royale, I would have liked this movie a lot better. There's SO much action that, being edited like this, it hurts the movie a lot. Great stuff was filmed, but was ruined by the editing.
There a few action scenes that it looked like they threw in some random shots. I stopped paying attention during a lot of the action (got pretty tired of feeling I was being rolled around inbetween two people) until the scenes slowed down. I felt like I had to have a severe case of ADD to watch it. Can't believe people actually like that crap.
I wish Martin Campbell had directed it. He did CR and my other favorite, Goldeneye. Plus this is a true sequel so it would have only fit better.
I'm glad Marc Forster said he isn't coming back for the next one. I just hope who ever does it, doesn't use this style of editing.
This review sums it up:
https://www.nj.com/entertainment/tv/index.ssf/2008/11/action_never_lets_up_in_quantu.htmlThe style provides an adrenaline boost but little real involvement; the action sequences become such a blur of white men in black suits fighting, it's hard sometimes to tell what's going on
