They (NECA) aren't even trying here... battle damage should be more than some paint smudges. They should sculpt in dents, scrapes, etc...

well yeh... you see everyone wants to make $ so the easilest way is taking opportunities. Since the release of T4 you see Neca re-release 18" endo and Aoshima also re-release their 12" endo with a slight paint job change.

making dents and stuff means they need to make new molds ... so why spending extra money to make new ones when they can happily use old ones. Oh well...~

If that is what it looks like then it is beautiful!!
:monkey5

The new one HAS to be a re-paint, because I have the original "orange box" release and it doesn't look anything like this. The original is straight silver (with panel line detailing) and an all black gun (no detailing).

Yeah i know when i first got it i was like what the hell is this dirty stuff on it?
doesn't look like anything except like a child got a paint marker and used it on the figure or it was left in a storage depot too long.

Other then that its still a good figure for the size and price i guess plus its got light up eyes...can't beat the old light up eyes.

Got the original not sure id go for the new one. The figure looks exactly the same. I don't think the new paint job if it is indeed one is that good. the best one i seen was someone who had him in full chrome battlestar galactica style.

is he more chromed up, or have they just added dirt to the original figure (with the silver paint) and re-packaged him?

dunno i have the original, but i asked some ebay sellers and they say its the same one, just in different packaging.

Obviously i can't confirm without the so called newer model but i think also its the same model. I have examined that pic and the endo i got and the details are exactly the same. Its just the pics are taken in a certain light making the model probably appear a slightly shinier color. Just to also confirm the endo also has got battle damage on its head and the exact same battle damage detailing to the plasma rifle as in that pic so to me i think its the exact same model re-released just in different packaging.

To me it just looks like a new box, same product. Maybe they did this to try to cash in on TS?

I also have both and there both the same. Only that the new one does have a new box and a battle damage re-paint on the Endo and the gun. Sorry for the bad pic.

factory repainted laser gun
repainted skull
and some repainted to the arms and legs ……
still no display base -_-

hey look at that. another 18" figure i'm not gonna buy.
in what sense is making an 18" figure more cost-effective than a 12" that i'd actually want?

got my new version endo
looks like it's a real official repainted !
sweeeeeeeeeet!!

darkside, just to clear this up: did u do any additional repainting of your own, or did the battle-damaged endo look like that right out of the box?

the skull and limbs look nice, but from your pic, it looks like the chest area doesn't have the same overall darkened wash or any damage except for the scorch marks. strange.

nice pics btw.

The new Endo..the one that comes in the blue box is the battle damage. It already comes with the scorch marks.

no additional repainting to my endo.
and the battle-damaged endo looks like that right out of the box.
