I never say no one cares about X figure anymore cause there is always someone wanting some figure. But personally, I could care less about Thena/Hawkguy/Hawkgirl.
That's a fair take, and if I'm honest I'm always for them compelting runs as, like you said, everyone's someone's favourite. I just think there should be better scheduling. Ending 2021 with Thena as the last figure revealed just leaves an underwhelming taste in my mouth.
Now if they make a big guy though...oh yes, I'll take him.
"Big Guy"? TDKR Bane? Darkseid from ZSJL?
I am honestly interested in 9 more potential figures from NWH and could see a 10th if they reissue an Iron Spidey.
I'm done at 3 with NWH, and that's me stretching it. Ock, Goblin, Tobey-Man and done. Spider-Man is strictly a nostalgia thing for me, so I have to keep it contained. Most I could go over that line is a comic accurate Venom, which would put us years and years down the lane, Insomniac SM2 at the earliest. Then there's Superior Spider-Man & 2099 (a proper one, with a Miguel HS) and that's it from me Spider-Wise. I have to keep my BatShelf similarly contained, though I fear that I could expand that more if we ever get proper Ras, Talia, Damian, Azrael and the such figures. I've been skipping Arkham for the time being, but there are some designs that'd tempt me too much like AK Catwoman & Scarecrow. But if you cross the line to "oh, that looks cool" instead of "that's essential to my display" then you end up buying all the Green Lanterns just to have a cool Lantern display as you're running out of space with 10+ different 20-figure displays...
I mean, I'm a huge Ironfan and I only have one figure. I'd buy a Cruise Stark in a heartbeat, and there's two or so comic armours I'd buy as well. Can I really spend the same amount of cash on random GLs just to have Jordan flanked by a crowd? Every figure must have a story. I can justify one for completionism (like if I ever have TCW era Skywalker and Kenobi in my hands, I can see myself buying a Rex too to complete the set-up), or something like the FF even if Reed's my main favourite, but I cannot justify a a Killowog. Hal, Parallax Hal and Sinestro would be my main wants, then maybe one or two villains (Black Hand, Atrocitus) and someone like Kyle. When we're planning displays we forget each figure is ~300$ and that each time you buy one just for complationism's sake, you're saying it's worth the same as that one fan-favourite you POed Day 1 and were anxiously waiting for.
Always fluid in purchases, but so far the only Marvel one I am interested in is the VG Classic Spidey. That Carnage is really, really pricey but a maybe still. Then DC Batman XE, SW Mando Shiny, Mando Luke and Snowspeeder Luke.
ATM I've got no Marvel POs, but next year will be an onslaught for me. Apart from waiting for the NWH stuff, my first priority is DS2, then the Star Wars stuff. If all the cameos turn out to be true, and they get figures, I'm in trouble. From Black Adam I'll stick with just a Fate if they make him. I'll probably pass on a Battinson and wait until TB2, unless the figure is an absolute banger and there's not much I want from Kenobi or the such. Dunno about Moon Knight, I definitely want him, but maybe I could wait for an S2 outfit. I still don't have a Loki for example as I'm waiting for the perfect look. BP2 is up on the air, same with Ant-Man 3 & Kang. And that's not including random announcements. Needless to say, lots of stuff, plus my already existing POs.
It's tough trying to plan displays when there's such an overabundance of so many characters coming out all at once. Classics versus favourites versus new things you never knew you wanted. It takes planning and patience, knowing when to stop and wait for another go, when to leave a figure on the backburner and the such.
