Scarjo thinks Hot Toys nails actors likeness:
All of you critics are wrong.
P.S. She has no idea what I do to my Black Widow figures
While I would like a Sandman and Lizard, at this point I just want to see that Hoody Goblin to finally decide which one I will get. I'm out on Electbro.
I mean, recently we got full on comic-accurate Sam Captain America, Scarlet Witch, and we’ve seen Jane Thor, all while Moon Knight has multiple comic-authentic looks and Doctor Strange even has his Defenders look.Honestly, I don't have much faith in the MCU's art department re: superhero costumes. They've done well a few times, but with their recent track record I expect the FF to be wearing denim overalls and the X-People in jeans and bomber jackets with maybe a t-shirt made out of basketball material, or maybe generic sci-fi CGI geometric shapes if they want to get crazy.
It's a combination of inexplicable design choices and trying to make the costumes 'real world'.
I was hoping that with years of brand exposure and development they'd have the nerve to make superheroes look more the part, but that's my nostalgia talking. I guess they finally gave Holland a proper Spidey suit, so there's that.
I hope so. Some good examples above.I mean, recently we got full on comic-accurate Sam Captain America, Scarlet Witch, and we’ve seen Jane Thor, all while Moon Knight has multiple comic-authentic looks and Doctor Strange even has his Defenders look.
This fear seems misplaced. The last X-men series mocked yellow outfits and stick them in squeaky black leather on their first outing. I expect Marvel will do better.
Usually I'd agree, but like @Garlador said, they've been getting better. Someone could point to something like Thor 4, where Jane looks needlessly MCUfied (LINESLINESLINES) and Thor looks downright gaudy, but that's on Waititi. MK and Doctor Strange are getting costumes that, while adapted for realism, are pretty close to their comic ones. Hell, Strange is straight up getting his comic version (with some extra details) in that statue from the trailer:Honestly, I don't have much faith in the MCU's art department re: superhero costumes. Admittedly I was never a Wolverine fan, but I just don't understand his costume. That mask ... (sure it looks cool in a comic book way and I guess that's what matters). My make-or-break is whether Wolverine will ever wear the classic suit or mask… We were SO close.
Yes, yes, admittedly masks are for hiding your secret identity in comics, and Logan never bothered to hide his face (though his real identity was so secret even he didn’t know it…)Admittedly I was never a Wolverine fan, but I just don't understand his costume. That mask ... (sure it looks cool in a comic book way and I guess that's what matters).
It's more the design of the ears/wings but as a kid I never even questioned it, so that's clearly adult me looking at it all too closely.Yes, yes, admittedly masks are for hiding your secret identity in comics, and Logan never bothered to hide his face (though his real identity was so secret even he didn’t know it…)
It’s like how characters like Cap, Black Panther, and even Zemo wore masks, despite being public figures. Sometimes it’s just “rule of cool”.
One initial explanation was Logan wore the mask while doing missions for Alpha Flight and it just stuck.
Unless they bring Jackman back, I'll be passing on a Wolverine dolly. Not because he was the perfect Wolverine or whatever, it's just that I have nostalgia for him, whereas I dislike Wolverine as a character. Though I can't deny that he's had some top tier designs. I'll say this however; Brown >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Yellow. Still, the current Krakoa threesome stuff just turned me off the character completely, and I wasn't the biggest fan before. This is an area I can agree with Ennis (and I hate Ennis). My make-or-break is whether Wolverine will ever wear the classic suit or mask… We were SO close.
Logan's a canon weeaboo so he has a mask that makes him look like an Oni.Admittedly I was never a Wolverine fan, but I just don't understand his costume. That mask ... (sure it looks cool in a comic book way and I guess that's what matters).
I mean, Jean and Scott are the other 2/3rds of that threesome. It’s not like Wolvie’s doing it on his own…At least that's how I justify it beyond "it looks hella kewl". The other justification is that it makes him look kinda wolf-like. But it is an illogical costume. Cyclops' visor makes sense. Magneto's helmet has an in-universe justification and looks like a magnet. Wolverine's is just a random cool design.

Yeah I can see why some aren't fond of the MCU styled super suits. I think this vid summaries the major qualms:
Though for me I don't feel too bothered by it.
What an insulting tease that was. It was Mangold that didn't want any costumes. Clearly he doesn't know what people want. F that guy as you can make a costume but never put it on. Really, how dumb and self-serving.My make-or-break is whether Wolverine will ever wear the classic suit or mask… We were SO close.
