Yes you do, but I'll say it anyway. Star Wars has a deep storied and layered history, established characters, established lore, and established parameters. Longtime fans of the franchise want those things respected. But present day Lucasfilm wants to put their spin on things and rewrite the history of the franchise. Then after Disney interjects their 2022 "progressive" thing people like you claim there is no agenda, that it's all imagined when everyone knows that is an outright total lie. But you already knew that.

That’s an awful lot of projection. You must be exausted.

Give me a good actor and a good story and I’m good. You guys, on the other hand, go into hysterics and hyper sensitive fragility over every perceived “wokeness” you see.

There are some of those ironically reversed and disingenuous buzzwords people like to throw around on Twitter. Sorry for the micro-agression. You have a nice day.

I just watched SSC booth tour. The show is held by Sideshow. Forget about pre-recorded videos without those shiny glass panels were put in place, but they still record with a mobile phone in portrait mode. It's just pain in the eyes.

I have once again reached the “even though they never hold back figures until the weekend, I’m hoping that they did this time and something with a head sculpt will show up today” phase of grief. Will be good to move onto the “maybe SDCC will be different…” phase soon

I feel you. I'm still in the "they'll surely have multiple people playing other Variants and I won't be stuck with Clown Kang" phase...

Maybe he's the new HT CEO...

Hope dies last and all that. Hey, don't worry, in 2028 when they'll most certainly introduce Starkiller to the Canon to celebrate TFU's 20th anniversary, we'll totally have a Mace on our shelves. Dunno about a Padme though...

Lots of actors have never read the comics or watched the movies, then they go and watch them to prepare for the role. Are we saying only fans can play these roles now, because Tom Cruise has never flown...ah never mind.

Being that the genesis of SW is based on Cambell’s the Hero’s Journey, cinematic legend Kurosawa, WW2 history, 50’s hot rod culture and old TV serials and being that SW is literally the backbone of cinematic advancement and a pop culture icon where it birthed cinema into a new era and transformed itself into being the foundation of creating other cinematic works of art I guess it’s safe to assume that if your intention is to work in Hollywood at any capacity you will eventually get around to watching and understanding what SW meant and still means to Hollywood lol

Even if you don’t get hired to be in SW if you’re going to work in Hollywood it’s probably good for your own knowledge to say hey what is this SW all about how did it change the playground that I want to spend the rest of my career in but hey that’s just me.

I know I know renting a digital movie and watching 7.5 hours of SW is a very difficult thing to do lol

Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrisson Ford and Alec Guinness had never watched a Star Wars movie before being cast either.
But they were all very well versed in what GL was basing SW on they understood where he was coming from.

Of course they specifically never watched a SW movie before silly it didn’t exist yet lol

You mean what I do about every third weekend? :)

Look how clever this guy is. Nobody said it's a requirement to be the biggest Star Wars fan in the world. But if you are an actor playing a character from a franchise that has a lot of source material and history it's wise to do your homework. This sentiment can be appied to almost any line of work. It's part of properly training to do the job you are about to undertake and it's common knowledge that Star Wars has a rabid fandom. But yeah, no such fandom existed in 1977.

HT could’ve still thrown just one 20th anniversary AOTC bone to sweeten the pot even if just one!

A Mace
A Padme
A Clone Obi Wan
A Bly or any other specifically requested Clone hell even an Airborne Trooper.

Then a 1/4 Vader to cap it off.

Had they just gone the extra mile and gave us a popular character the complaints would be much more muted.
Haven't they already done a 1/4 Vader? I'd much prefer to see something new in that scale. Luke, Leia, Han...OT obviously or PT Obi Wan, Anakin.
